Hunter: 'Postage stamp' Israel should not give up 'one inch' of territory WASHINGTON — A contender for the Republican presidential nomination has ruled out an Israeli withdrawal as part of any peace accord with the Arabs.

Rep. Duncan Hunter, one of 10 Republicans vying for their party's 2008 presidential nomination, said Israel must not withdraw from "one inch" of territory as part of an Arab peace accord. Hunter, the former chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, termed Israel a "postage stamp of a country" that could not afford to cede territory.

On May 20, Hunter, a California Republican, voiced his position during a meeting with Christian Zionists in Alexandria, Va. He recalled his visit to the Golan Heights, the scene of intense armored battles with Syria during the 1973 Yom Kippur War.

Yes, Representative Hunter is the best candidate in this race for president in 2008, and would probably have been the best candidate in many other election years.

I say that every time they suicide Bomb..Israel takes 20 acres of Palestinian held land, every gun shot from a sniper, 10 more acres...plus 25 acres for every Jew injured, and 50 acres for every Jewish soldier wounded.
if any Jew is killed...1000 acres. move every house in the way. finish the wall. take more and more land even if they cross into Lebanon, or Jordan, or Egypt. push them into the sea of Galille. Jordan is where most of them are from. Let Jordan take them back. Take back Gaza and force those there into Egypt. ( Egypt let them smuggle Bombs into Gaza ...let it cost Egypt for their aiding Terrorism.

I agree, he’s a great conservative. Hunter suffers from an unfortunate self-perpetuating cycle. His low name identification prevents him from raising considerable money, and the lack of money in turn keeps his name identification low. To break out, you either have to have an incredibly slick media team, or more commonly have some characteristic that the MSM wishes to hype.

I'm afraid you're right, and it makes me sad. When are the glib, self-important know-it-alls who control the MSM going to lose their stranglehold over American public opinion? I had hoped with the advent of the Internet and alternative media, most notably talkers on the radio, American heads would have long come out of our hindquarters by now.

Why is it that the strongest, most unwavering supporters of the Jewish state are the ones most hated by this community? Do they think that if the Islamonazis get their wish and Israel is "wiped off the map," they will be spared because of their liberal views? Mayor Koch saw it; when are the others going to wake up? It never ceases to amaze me how self-destructive my own people can be.
