SOFIA, Bulgaria Weeping relatives embraced five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor, imprisoned for life in Libya for infecting children with HIV, after the six medics flew home Tuesday to cheering crowds and a presidential pardon.
"I waited so long for this moment," nurse Snezhana Dimitrova said as she fell into the arms of emotional relatives.

According to this: http://thelede.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/07/24/recipe-to-end-a-libyan-standoff/
there is $400 million of debt forgiveness to Libya by Bulgaria, Slovakia, Croatia, and the Czech Republic. That's a million dollars apiece in ransom payments for each of the children who got infected with HIV by this dirty filthy hospital where the nurses worked to help the Libyans.
I guess that should teach us not to help muzzies, shouldn't it?

I just returned last week from Bulgaria. I can assure you there is dancing in the streets going on there right now. This is a VERY big deal over there! Has been for years. Bulgaria Air has ribbon decals on all of their airplanes and much of their promotional material in sympathy for the nurses. Their in-flight magazine was unapologetic about calling the captors "their torturers" and their imprisonment unjust.
Good news indeed!
