Remember the old days when candidates running for president wanted to out-macho each other? It was really not that long ago when Beta Male Al Gore hired feminist writer Naomi Wolfe to teach him how to appear more like an Alpha Male. (Naomis expert advice: earth tones.) Today the debate seems to be about who is more of a woman and, just as important, who will capture the womens vote in decisive-enough numbers, first in the primaries and then in the general election. Remember in the 2004 election, women made up 54 percent of the electorate and in several states independent women voters were the key to President Bushs victory.
Last week Elizabeth Edwards, who is getting more out-front each day as her husbands campaign wilts, got downright snappish about Hillarys pushing and pushing the woman thing. Mrs. Edwards sniped, Im for the promotion of all women, she told an audience in New Hampshire. Im not just for the promotion of one of us. She went on to say, Keeping that door open to women is actually more a policy of Johns than Hillarys.
Hillary was shrewd enough not to get into that cat fight. She let Bill unsheathe the claws and purr back to Diane Sawyer on Good Morning, America. If you look at the record on women's issues, I defy you to find anybody who has run for office whose got a longer history of working for women, for families, and children, than Hillary. ...................................
If she wins the primaries and is certain of the nomination I predict there will be some big changes. No more girlish giggles punctuating her speeches. No more goo-goo eyes and handholding with Bill. He will be probably be put under home confinement in Chappaqua.

I could have gone ALL DAY LONG without that thought in my head.
But, nooooooo....
I think it’s beyond tacky and bad taste to trot out the terminally ill cancer patient to attack everyone because they know she is untouchable.
But, we are talking about Dems......tacky and bad taste are the top words in their motto.
Too bad Edwards’ wife did not get immediate diagnosis and
treatment, but HIS attraction to power came first.
Mrs. Edwards has nothing to lose. She knows her time is measured and will do anything, say anything to try to get the Breck girl into the White House. I suspect there is no love lost between she and Hillary! anyway. They are much of a muchness.
Yea, Bret Girl has this one wrapped up.
Just as Ann Coulter said, the Dems try to find untouchable spokespersons for their most damnable calumnies...(OK, the last two words are mine, not Ann’s...;)
HilaryCare has a long history of working an women’s issues during BJ’s many Bimbo Eruptions.
Pray for W and Our Troops
No big surprise that Edwards would do the same thing. His wife being unassailable because of illness is just a bonus for him.
The wife of the fag is off her rocker!
Who is Bret gril? I’ve heard of John Edwards referred to as the Breck (as in shampoo) girl.
Note to self. Never post pre-coffee.
But, like most things Dhimmis do, this is setting a really bad precedent. This, like the frequent “outing” of Cheney’s daughter, opens the door to bringing other family members into a campaign and all of its mud slinging.
Let’s face it, you throw that lever for one name on the ballot. That is the person who should be saying what they stand for. And they should not be hiding behind the apron strings of their wife or husband.
Im sure the silk pony thinks this a new and innovative and very cleverly campaign trick:

Spot on, Rush Limbaugh mentioned this the day of the press conference and was lambasted for it
.... because as usual- he’s right on.
For a guy with masculinity problems it was not the best comment to make.
It’s generally post-adult beverage that messes me up.
“beyond tacky and bad taste to trot out the terminally ill cancer patient to attack everyone because they know she is untouchable”
This is how Democrats operate - look at all the people they use to snipe with. Sheehan, 9/11 widows, congressman in a wheelchair, etc.
They’re too chknsht to express their opinions through someone who can be openly challenged based on those opinions - must be because those opinions have no merit.
