"Nazis."
Lord, can we just give this one a rest?
So help me, if there's a term that's been overworked and overused in public debate of late, that's it.
Worn out is what it is.
The most recent example was a July 15 guest commentary in this newspaper written by Mr. Marc Brenman.
Mr. Brenman is the executive director of the Washington State Human Rights Commission and he held forth for 700 or so words on how truly bad he thinks a group called The Minutemen are.
Fine. That's an opinion. He's entitled to it and, most certainly, is entitled to express it.
But, if he wants me nodding in agreement rather than sputtering into my coffee, then he'll have to tell me precisely why he thinks this group is a bunch of kooks.
I'd like examples and dates. I'd like patterns and proof. Then, with that available, I'll look at their side of the story and make a decision as to whether I believe they're bigots, racists (another overworked term), crackpots or loons. My opinion may or may not be the same as his.

This guy defends the Minutement from the usual Nazi smear.
Which is ironic - considering what “Nazi” means.
Nazis the other N word
It doesn’t do any good to huff and puff about this, because as we all well know, the libs never learn. You can show them and you can tell them, over and over again, but they’ll come right back with the silly mistaken rhetoric and flawed solutions.
Long after you and I have passed, somewhere a lib will be trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and blaming “Nazis” for the fact that it doesn’t fit.
“Pecksniffian twaddle” That’s original.
To that word I would like to add the words "racist", "xenophobe' and "hateful". If those words are abused and perverted by the mental kindergarteners, the current effect is to delegate what follows to the "irrelevant" bin.
In the context of immigration, unless the accused equally paints the legal, along with the illegal, the argument devolves into nonsense...
Sa WA? ping....
it’s not only the left.
I am german and it was hard to believe for me for what small reason the nazi grenade is thrown here.
I can name only few threads about germany that doesn’t contain some completely brainless nazi comparison.
In the criminal invasion debate, there IS one side who are militaristic socialist advocates of a particular race, and it’s not the Minutemen.
Accusations from the left are merely confessions.
Can’t make a sound case? Just lob a verbal grenade.
what the lib/dem and msm do every time they argue a postion they cannot defend!!!
Despite all that, the Nazi era of German history won't be easily forgotten, and since we've muddled the memory of what Nazis were (socialists), it's an easy smear for the left to throw at conservatives. Don't expect that to go away any time soon. You have my sympathy (and my respect, BTW).

“Accusations from the left are merely confessions.”
Absolutely correct.
Thanks alot for your friendly attitude towards my place of birth and home.
It was an old propagnada trick of the east german regime to claim anti-fascism as their basic attitude. Thats why they build the wall - to keep fascists out. A joke - but noone laughed.
