These captures and kills demonstrate the ideological divide between “secular” Baathists and Islamic extremists was not so distant

Many analysts of the insurgency in Iraq are currently debating its makeup and strength, among other things. Regardless of what percentage is currently claiming allegiance to what ideology or group, the past few years of reporting have slowly revealed that at least one deadly aspect of the insurgency in Iraq has been the cooperation of some members of Saddam Hussein's regime (though not all) and Islamic militants, particularly al Qaeda in Iraq.

Below is a list, compiled from a number of media reports over the past few years, of the names and backgrounds of some of those found to have supported or worked for the former Baath Party of Saddam Hussein's Iraq and also al Qaeda. Parts of this list were cited by World Net Daily in a story about postwar links between members of Saddam Hussein's regime and al Qaeda elements in Iraq.

Are you the owner of regime of terror.com ?

I found your videos on youtube, and your website is GREAT.

I’m making my own investigation on the subject. I have written about 100 articles on the subject so far, from different sources (French, US, Iraqis...) and I have gathered all my stuff on my blog.

It is in french but translation is available on the upper right of the blog:

http://leblogdrzz.over-blog.com/article-5660166.html

ps : DID you know that the Saddam’s chief of protocol confirmed Saddam had ties with Al-Qaeda, several camps built for terrorists and trained these terroriste to hijack the same plane as those who stroke the WTC ?

Is it supposed to be an advice to see the videos or a warning to not see them ?

Ok it was an advice so...

I thought there was a misunderstanding and you believed I was among the “inside job” crowd...

Which is ABSOLUTELY not the case. You can see on my blog :

Or in a little video I made to support the US

Great article Mark.

It will be even more powerful if we can find out if these ex-Saddam regime officers that you mentioned were working or had contacts with Al Qaeda during Saddam rule. I am sure that some of them already did as the Iraqi documents reveal the meeting of Saddam intelligence with Bin Laden in 1995, and an Al Qaeda document talks about of Ayman Al Zawahiri to Iraq in 1999.

Actually the US army has the guy you need in custody :

Faruq Hijazi, who travelled several times to Afghanistan to meet Bin Laden, and who was captured in April 2003.

The training of the foreign Arab terrorists called by Saddam regime "Al Feedayeen Al Arab" (Arab Feedayeens) went way after 1993 and all the way till the fall of Saddam as this documents shows. In fact in April 2003 a document shows that Saddam gave an order to treat the Arab Feedayeens (terrorists) like Iraqi Special Forces and give them the same wages and benefits.

When the so-called secularist Saddam Hussein found himself in trouble after the invasion of Kuwait in 1990 he embraced the Islamists and changed the Iraqi flag to include the words “God is Great”. The secular Baathists went along (the Baath of Michel Aflaq had been an attenuated force for years). Prior to the invasion of Iraq in 2003 Saddam made it a point to embrace the Islamists, and again the so-called Baath went along. They are opportunists, and with Saddam dead they see their return to power only possible by an alliance with foreign Islamists (al-Qaeda) who are providing much of the determined fighters in the war for Iraq. The information should shock no one.

"We didn't have precisions about Saddam's involvement in the 9/11 attacks. However, a informator told me camps were built for Arab terrorists near Baghdad. Iraqi intelligence officers were the advisers. They were training with real Boeing 747, the same they will later use for the hijackings." Haitham Rashid Wihaib Saddam's chief of Protocol (1980-1993) In a book ONLY published in French in december 2003 TRANSLATION OF THE BACK COVER : “When he is ordered to organize the daily life of Saddam Hussein, Haitham Rashid Wihaib knows he has no choice : he knows the fate of those who refuse Saddam’s orders. He will stay 13 years at the job, before fleeing with his wife and children after the third attempt of murder against him. Today, he explains everything. Saddam and his 20’000 cars, his numerous palaces where 250 foods were prepared everyday in the case of a unexpected visit of the dictator and his guests (who had to disinfect themselves before approaching him). Saddam throwing through the window the mistresses he disliked. Saddam and his personal jails, his ferment of acid where he threw prisoners, his heroin refinery for neutralizing the states of the region... Saddam and his huge wealth he kept from his people and allies, his behavior during the Gulf War and how he favored training of bin Laden’s commandos.”
