Battle believes it belonged to his neighbors, who have several other pitbulls.

A Tulsa man will be honored this week for saving another man's life. Back in April, Michael Cook came to the rescue when a pitbull attacked his neighbor. The News On 6s Chris Wright reports Cook will receive the Citizen Appreciation Award from Tulsa police on Tuesday, an honor his neighbor says he more than deserves.
Marvin Battle walks with a cane these days, but says considering what happen to him on April 25th, he can live with the limp.
"I can't bend my leg. I have to go through physical therapy, said Battle. I've been on a lot of pain medications. I have panic attacks and I have nightmares."

Michael Cook heard all the commotion, grabbed his gun, and came outside. He says the only thing he'd ever shot at before was a target, and the margin for error was thin. Fortunately, the pitbull looked up for a split second, and Cook pulled the trigger. And Cook isn't in jail? I checked and this occurred in the US. Maybe the nation isn't going to heck in a handbasket after all.
"So I bent down to try and shoot the dog from the side. When I did, that's when he raised up, and I shot him in the head, Cook said.
Since the breed is in the first sentence of the article, guesswork is optional.
Make that the second sentence, a long slog, I know, but it can be done.
I sometimes just click the link. Read that later, thanks.
Let me guess, a golden retriever? A St. Bernard? No one dog is any more vicious than another.
For a very long time, responsible bull-terrier breeders have been trying to breed out the most aggressive tendencies of the breed; meanwhile, back in the ‘hood and in rural Virginia, idiot thugs with daddy issues are trying to do the opposite. Yet another reason to hate thugs and put them in jail.
That’s a chow...not exactly an exemplar reputation itself.
"I can name that breed from the first four words of the headline."
"Name that breed!"
"Pitbull."
DING..DING..DING.. "That is correct for 20 points!"

"Ours are these super-friendly ones over here, see? They wouldn't hurt a fly"
Yup. It’s all the owner’s fault. Let’s make an additional jail space available for that owner by freeing a rapist or a murderer.
Lets make an additional jail space available for that owner by freeing a rapist or a murderer.Nope. Just shove him in the same jail cell with the murderer and rapist. If you can't do the time...
"God has been GOOD 2 Me!"
As well as our Constitution and our Second Amendment....be sure to remember that when you vote, Mr. Battle.
(although I have a sneaking suspicion that if he wasn't previously a supporter of gun rights, he certainly is now.)
It is the owners fault. If I left a loaded gun out on the street, and someone got hurt, it would be my fault. If I leave a vicious dog outside, and someone gets hurt, it shoud likewise be my fault.
what do you have against personal responsbility?
Sure. I don’t have any problem with putting the owner in jail. Shoot the dog, and put the owner in jail.
And while we’re at it, let’s put all owner’s of pit bulls in jail, just like we do with owners of tigers, and wolves, etc.
