No State Budget But Senators To Try Again This Week (Dem Crybabies Hit Road Alert)

Conservative activists, meanwhile, told the lawmakers to hold their ground.

"You 15 are officially martyrs for all California taxpayers," Jon Fleischman, a member of the state party's board, wrote to the caucus on his blog Flash Report, http://www.flashreport.org.GOP senators have been using the blog to sound off on Perata, the governor and Assembly Republican Leader Michael Villines of Clovis. They also offered updates on the lockdown.

Just before 7 a.m. Saturday, Sen. Jim Battin (R-La Quinta) sent in a posting. "We've been locked in, and there are sergeants at every exit making sure we can't leave," he wrote. "I slept in a chair for about an hour (and btw — Dennis Hollingsworth [(R-Murrieta)] snores :/). Ah-Democracy at work…. It's all rather quite embarrassing."

Also posted on the blog was an attack on the governor by Sen. Tom McClintock (R-Thousand Oaks): "He sided with liberal Democrats in refusing to balance the state budget."

The Democrat crybabies in California hit the road after the GOP killed a sham budget. Meanwhile, the Assembly went on a month-long vacation. The upshot is this: Senate Republicans will try to fashion a budget to be presented when the Senate reconvenes on Wednesday. Still its too much to hope for common sense in a state where the Dems and the MSM are addicted to ever higher levels of state spending and shifting the debt to future generations. Kudos to the Republican Senate Caucus for taking a principled stand.

Don Perata is right: Stop state government! No one would miss it if it was shut down. The Left is in a panic and I love the sight of a Left frightened without a government with which to run people's lives. I'd say they've had Freedom Month in California. I look at it as something not to mourn but to celebrate.

One word for the Kalifornia crash that will come to the state:

One member appears to be wavering, however. Abel Maldonado (R-Santa Maria), a moderate, has been abstaining from casting a budget vote, rather than joining his colleagues in voting against the Assembly plan.

Ah, yes. The Abel lapdog, sucking up to Arnold and his socialist agenda once again. RINOS--consistently on the wrong side of the cause.
