Supply and Demand is exactly why Mexicans are coming across the Border to make 10-20 times what they make in Mexico. The shortage of labor is why there is a need for Mexicans. That is supply and demand.

There are no simple cliches that will solve this issue.

They are coming across the border ILLEGALLY because there are Americans employers who want cheap slave labor and don’t want to run a business LEGALLY.

If anyone cannot run a business in the UNITED STATES of AMERICA without BREAKING THE LAW- they need to pack up shop and get a job....AFTER they serve jail time for breaking the law.

You can try to overlook the lawbreaking all you want but the simple fact is that those who hire illegals are no better than crack dealers. The difference is that these crack dealers buy politicians to pass laws that prevent Americans from seeking cheaper things like medicines outside the country.

A contractor hires three or four Hispanics at regular wage; next day they each show up with a cousin who’ll work for less so the contractor makes one of his first hires a foreman and the others leaders.

The cousins now all bring in cousins who in turn will work for even less than the others.

The contractor snatches them up, calls all the english-speaking workers together and explains that “times are hard” and he has to let some go, anyone speak Spanish?

A couple of hands shoot up and he keeps them after telling them that he has to cut their pay by a buck or so an hour for a week, maybe two.

By the end of the second week since the first Hispanic was hired, no English is heard spoken on the jobsite and only the steady rap-tap-tap and the bang-bang-bang of the hammers and the power guns echoes off the walls where once the roar of Dodge Rams and F-150s belched to life when the sun begins to kiss the treeline.

And the contractor can be seen behind the shades of his 10X40 mobile, counting his greenbacks while the wetbacks sweat.

The shortage of labor is why there is a need for Mexicans.

The "need for Mexicans" comes from greedy employers who would rather sell out their fellow Americans by exploiting the poverty stricken who come here for a better life. The employers can pay the illegals far less (and no benefits)and don't care that the "savings" is passed on to all taxpayers in the form of public entitlements that go to support the illegals and their families.

If employers had to pay their workers a decent wage, their profits would go down, but the quality of life for all Americans would go up immeasurably.

And as for the illegals who would be forced to remain in their own country - how about all those "hardworking" people chip in and better their own lot rather than try to ruin ours?
