The fact is that the rapes and murders commited by illegals are all avoidable. The victims and their families would likely not agree with you that it is a non-issue.

I won’t avoid the crime issue. Yes they commit crimes, just like inner city poor commit crimes. You going to outlaw poverty?
Now if you could document the Mexicans like President Bush wants you could separate the criminals from the hard workers. That would be a step in the right direction, however your side won’t allow that since that would be labeled “shamnesty”.

I've never stated anywhere or anytime that I'm in favor of illegal immigrants. The only thing I've done is question the wisdom of those who seem to think the easy answer is to round them up and deport them.

Since I've never argued for the merits of the so-called "economic benefits" brought by illegals, then this question has no merit in our discussion.
Since you seem to have the completely wrong idea about my position on this issue, allow to illuminate you. I am not in favor of illegal immigration. I, as you, want this problem corrected. I want the border secured and all the illegals held accountable for coming here illegally. I just do not see the fix needed to be such as what you are calling for. I also do not see all illegal immigrants as being these horrid little creatures you seem to want to make them out to be. Yes, many illegals are horribly criminals. Yes, these horrible criminals need to be held accountable for their crimes. Yes, we need to stop the flow of illegals into our nation, and demand that those who come here legally come here to become Americans and not extensions of their home country. But, there must be a sensible approach to accomplishing these goals, and not just a knee-jerk emotions based approach as I've seen advocated on these threads. I do not agree with the plan as put forward by the Bush Administration, but I can understand why that plan was developed. Something needs to be done, and that was a first (if bad) attempt. These problems were not created overnight, and will not be solved in one attempt. Patients will be needed as anyone who has studied our form of government should know that our government works slowly. A fast-food "I want it done now" approach has never worked in the past, and won't work for this problem either.
