Bush: Americans will realize need for aliens
The Washington Times ^ | July 20, 2007 | Stephen Dinan

Posted on 07/20/2007 6:17:46 PM PDT by Baladas

President Bush yesterday said Americans will soon realize they need the immigrants and foreign temporary workers that would have been allowed by his immigration bill, which was defeated in the Senate last month.

Mr. Bush, in a town hall session in Nashville, Tenn., also refused to say whether he will pardon two U.S. Border Patrol agents convicted of shooting a fleeing drug-smuggling suspect, saying the prosecutor was a friend of his who made his case to the jury that convicted the agents.

If Mr. Bush was hoping the immigration issue would disappear after his bill's failure, those hopes were dashed, as he was asked repeatedly about border security during the forum — meant to highlight his commitment to cutting the deficit.

"The bill failed and I can't make a prediction to you at this point, sir, where it's going to head," the president told one questioner. "I can make you a prediction, though, that pretty shortly people are going to be knocking on people's doors saying, man, we're running out of workers."

Mr. Bush said there are workers who will do jobs Americans aren't doing in the agriculture sector in particular, and without them the jobs will go unfilled.

Very good post...

Be sure to thank them for keeping the police on overtime. 3-4 gang shootings a day in San Antonio. Part of this may be the Katrina people, let’s thank them as well. I can say for sure it’s not the Amish, the Danish, the Germans, the Swedish....you get the picture.

Be sure and thank them for our filthy graffiti filled cities which are beginning to look more like Tijuana slums.

Be sure to thank them for the TB, hepatitis, lice and MRSA that’s spreading as we speak in Texas and other places I’m sure.

Oh, and let’s be sure to thank them for all the drugs coming across the border infecting our children with an epidemic of drug abuse.

Be sure to thank them for using up our energy supply making us more dependent on muslim countries.

As the dominos fall in this country we can thank them all.

However, my children and grandchildren will pay the price which really saddens me.

Thank you to the congress and president Bush for turning this country upside down from the great nation it once was.

Thanks for the kudos.

What’s ironic is that bray (the sound a Donkey makes) has yet to respond to me on my direct posts to her.

I don’t know if she is a troll or just misguided, but her silence actually speaks volumes.

Sincerely

Yes, but we still NEED the slave class to pick our E. Coli spinach, green onions, and lettuce for us! They didn’t want to use that outhouse and forgot to bring their hand sanitizer. I certainly can’t go out in the fields, I might break a nail...

But, then, illegals don't pay any taxes, now do they?

So your little make believe story is suppose to prove what? You answered your own question, they don't pay taxes. When they are doing farm work 99% of the time they are short term contractors and therefore no with holdings. They don't even file 1099's on them.

Years ago when I lived in California I used to pass the strawberry fields every day on my way to work. There were NO porta potties or anything else out there. I haven’t been able to eat strawberries since then unless I grow them myself.

If the country of mexico wasn’t so corrupt and dishonest in almost everything they do they could have a beautiful country. Look at all the coastline they have. Tourism in itself could make them rich. Who in their right mind would travel down there now? There would be no reason for their citizens to come here illegally. I fear that corruption, dishonesty etc will just fester in our cities.

Actually it already does if one were to really take a close look at all the phony id’s, the welfare roles, the identity thefts, and the lawyers getting them lawsuits for everything from disability to personal injury.

________________________________________________

The top-to-bottom culture of corruption in Mexico is so blatant that the failed amnesty bill had an entire section devoted to it.

The passages stated that the goals of the bill would ultimately fail unless the corruption in the private and public sectors changed. IOW...centuries of corrupt governance would have to be voluntarily condemned and abandoned by those who currently profit from it (kind of like politely asking the Gambino family to please, please give up the illegal profits and go straight).

Furthermore the masses of mexicans sneaking in here bring this culture of corruption with them, it is, as stated in the bill, part of being mexican.

While on the topic of being nit-picky (Germanic as opposed to German—what the poster obviously intended to use), the Normans brought French (a Romance language) into English.

Recent DNA Analysis has shown that the English are still mostly Celtic. Especially the female DNA. So when I think of the English, I think of them as more Celtic then German. That is what the DNA confirms. So the Normans were Celtic Gaulish French ? Not Germanic Frankish French ? I had the understanding that the Franks were the Germanic tribe that conquered and ruled over the Celtic Gauls.

German, and the vote could have been about whether legal documents would be in German (along with English?) for the federal government. It was supposed to have lost by a single vote.

That is what I was referring too. Do not have a handy cite or reference with additional details. The German influence in young America is a little known story.

That is a real shame. I used to travel throughout Mexico (and South America), going places the tourists didn’t go. I agree it could have been a great country. Now I won’t anymore.

>>Furthermore the masses of mexicans sneaking in here bring this culture of corruption with them<<

There is no doubt about that.

They also seem to bring a lack of respect for property. A beautiful state park in AZ has to shut down every year because of ecoli in the water. A visitor there will find dirty diapers everywhere, including the creek. A friend in Phoenix writes that merely three miles from where he lives, is a Latino community. It has literally become a land refuse. When the dumpsters are full, the trash gets thrown in the streets. Everywhere.

A Google Earth search at the border, starting at San Diego going east will clearly show the lack of pride and respect for the land.

bray never answers the hard questions because it can’t.

bray, you sicken me and every other American that has worked for a free country and doesn’t need bacteria from third world garbage countries to come here illegally.

If mexico is so great why don’t you move there and quit spreading lies on FR? That way you can be more efficient in that you can pick produce and crap at the same time without washing your hands. That is what they do and it appears you favor this approach.

A little graphic, but it is what the criminals you support are doing. If they get a job in fast food do they change they hygienic habits?

No, they don’t.

Jesse Jackson admitted to spitting on white people’s burgers when working a real job before becoming a race baiter (like you). The Lord only knows what these illegal alien criminals that hate whites just as much are doing.

The good news, unless you are an illegal alien criminal is that your hamburger bun is their toilet paper too.

Yes, the country is full of bums who won’t work but are living off the women who is collecting welfare and living in HUD Housing. It’s a big problem, I don’t know why the Government tolerates such depravity. It’s disgusting, no wonder the children are turning out so confused, if you told them that we were being taking over by Islamic Fascists, they wouldn’t ever understand why that would be a problem.

It should be noted that it is not the fact that they are 'Latino' that is the problem. The problem is that they come form a third world corrupt society. That is all they know. Their corrupt government encourages them to illegally enter the US and send money back to Mexico. There really is no problem with Latinos in general. Heck, I have a Latino business partner in one of my little incubator companies.

I just drove Tombstone to San Diego for the first time with stops off the beaten path. I am sorry for my countrymen there and pissed at those among us (at all levels) who turn a willfully blind eye.

Personally, I could go the rest of my life without ever eating lettuce again. What is it good for anyway ? If we have to import more fruit and veggies, so be it ? We import almost all our fresh fruit and veggies during the winter anyway.

Give the Mexican National Fruit and Veggie Pickers their own land in Mexico and teach them how to farm. We will buy their product and they will regain their pride.

Since I didn’t have any proof of the legal status of people in the neighborhood he spoke of, I only posted what he told me. (I made my own assumptions - a cheap housing area with single-wides, and men sitting on the curb at the crack of dawn, probably did mean they were illegals. Yet, I had no right to post that they were illegal immigrants from what I had been told.) Sorry for my lack of clarity.

"But Mr. Bush yesterday continued to tie border security to plans for a temporary worker program and legalizing the 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens already in the country and giving them a path to citizenship"

President Bush and anyone else thinking in these terms can kiss my @ss.

and they can kiss their own jobs goodbye. I'd rather see the completely incompetent (and likely insane!) Nancy Pelosi run the country than these snake oil salesmen in conservative suits. Let Hillary and Obama have the reins, at least you know what you're getting (screwed!). These globalist "conservatives" are selling us all down the river under the pretense of being "at least better than the Democrats" and I've had enough.

Close the borders now (North and South), secure the ports and stop this expansion toward the "North American Union"

This is treason. period
