A Homewood woman left her 13-month-old daughter in a car overnight for about 10 hours with the windows and sun roof open while violent thunderstorms raged outside, Pittsburgh police said Thursday.
Child welfare workers are caring for the girl. Her mother, Brandi Morgan, 25, who, police said, forgot about the child, faces a hearing next week on endangerment charges.
A passerby discovered the child, whom police did not name, just before 7 a.m. Wednesday, strapped in a car seat in the back seat of a brown Lexus parked at Brushton Avenue and Fletcher Way, said Pittsburgh police Cmdr. RaShall Brackney.
The rain-soaked girl wore only a diaper and was covered with leaves, dirt and twigs, police said.

These kinds of stories piss me off like no other. This stupid, undoubtedly drugged-up, sorry-excuse-of-a-mom ought to be beaten, sterilized, and strung up for leaving her little girl alone in this car and exposed to these storms. I thank God that the little girl survived and will not remember the terror of this night, and can only hope against hope that she will be placed in a proper home with a family that can give her the love and care that she deserves.

It is virtually impossible to forget you left your baby in the car for that length of time.

That’s going to leave a mark. What a terrifying ordeal for a 13 month old baby. I would bet “Mom” was high on something.

That’s what I would think and I did forget my youngest son once for about 2 minutes and I felt horrible.

At least she left her in there during the relative cool of the evening instead of during the daylight when she would have baked to death.

Yep, I thought it said Hollywood baby too. There’s lots of those, of all ages.

Not only did she forget the kid, she forgot to roll up the windows on her Lexus! Obviously not her car. Maybe it belonged to the ex-boyfriend who is the child's father?

The "mother" is probably an intravenous methamphetamine addict. It sucks the soul out of a person better than any drug that has ever been invented. As long as someone is supplying the drug, an addict will ignore everything else in his or her life to get more.
Most "Reefer Madness" type stories about women becoming sex slaves to get drugs are bunk, but not with crystal meth. A woman like that will service a hundred men in a weekend if it keeps her on the drug.
I am in favor of marijuana legalization, decriminalization and medicalization of most hard drugs, and mandatory execution on the first offense for anyone who touches meth.

I certainly hope not.
"Not only did she refuse to go with us, she never once asked about the condition of her child," Brackney said.

Yes, she didn’t forget. A parent going to sleep .... forgetting something ? Nah.. A/C is off, stove is off, cats are fed. I’m good.
She was on drugs. Totally.
