UC Berkeley scientists, digging deep into a remote New Mexico hillside, have discovered a trove of fossil bones that they say is evidence that dinosaurs and their early relatives lived side by side for tens of millions of years before the relatives slowly died off and left the dinosaurs to dominate the ancient world.
Until now many scientists had thought that dinosaur "precursors" -- perhaps their ancestors -- disappeared suddenly long before the dinosaurs themselves rose to prominence, but the bones dug up by Berkeley paleontologists show evidence of a different story.
The discovery of a wide variety of creatures all mingled together in layer upon layer of rocks dating from Earth's late Triassic period between 235 million and 200 million years ago, they say, shows that the strange relatives of the dinosaurs remained on the scene while the dinosaurs evolved into truly dominant creatures during the Jurassic period, between 120 million and 200 million years ago.

There is no missing link. That’s a phrase from the news media. There are a lot of transitional fossils.
You are joking, n'est pas?
Paleontology, palaeontology or palæontology (from Greek: paleo, "ancient"; ontos, "being"; and λόγος, logos, "knowledge") is the study of prehistoric life forms on Earth through the examination of plant and animal fossils
Thank you for the heads-up. I can consider this a “pearls-before-the-swine” area then.
If the anyone could create something like a dinosaur it was the Almighty, and he has all the time to do it in.
I find this line of reasoning turns more people off to Christianity than anything. make us look like ignorant buffoons.
“I believe in God the father almighty, maker of only one solar system and not really all that old, despite glaring evidence to the contrary, which of course is all made up to test us”
In chapter 1 God created the animals and mankind (not Adam). In chapter 2 He created Adam and the domestic animals (to till the ground).
Adam was the "first man" in the Adamic line, the line to Christ.
I have the word of the Bible which via archeology has been proven to be accurate through related finds. So by my faith I believe the whole book.
It is a all or none thing.
Also I do not assert that you worship monkeys, I do not know who or what you worship, but I can tell by your professions here you do not believe in the one true God or you wouldnot doubt him.
BTW, If you say you are atheist doesn’t that in itself mean you have to belief in a God to say you do not believe in Him.
Oh cool, the Jesus Flintstone picture, have not seen that in a while.
Man is limited as well in his knowledge of God, yet that hasn't stopped uppity creationists from saying it's impossible (impossible!) for God to have allowed evolution to take place.
Your argument would be a bit stronger if you found human remains in Triassic rock.
Missed the Ark by what, half an hour or so?
Hmm. Depends on your definition of evolution I guess. I did not evolve from amoebas to amphibian to primates to me. If God wants me to know what happen prior to written history as far as an exact time line goes he will let me know after the White Throne Judgment.
Rather than trying to take us by force, they shoulda offered to only accept people who volunteered, and only if they could afford it.
Target the halt, the crippled and the lame, formerly active people who became quadriplegics, the elderly with failing bodies.
Offer them a new full and active life that they are guaranteed to live in a state of near ecstasy and stand back from the door!
Why not? Are you saying that Bishop Usher didn't know what he was talking about?
Amen to that. ALL of the evidence points to the universe being around 15 billion years old. Doing such a thing would basically make God a liar. The heavens declare God's glory and part of that glory is being able to see galaxies that are more than 12 billion years old. Besides, if God is out of space-time as an author is out of a book that he wrote, time in our universe means nothing to Him.
Maybe his calculator had a weak battery? ;)
I also know that to some, any new discovery that fits in a spot where a rational person would say there was a missing link creates in the mind of the True Believer nothing more than TWO gaps, one on either side of the former gap.
Someone said something quite similar a few years ago: "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
1. The lazy creationists just say that when God created the universe, he added in existing light trails from the stars to Earth, so that the light that would normally take millions of years to reach Earth already existed.
2. More committed creationists attribute some kind of unknown light acceleration force that we haven't discovered yet outside of our solar system. They believe there is some mysterious convection or compression mechanism that lies somewhere between all the stars in the universe and Earth which allows light to travel faster than light.
3. The serious creationists argue that the speed of light has been exponentially slowing down since God created the universe 6,000 years ago. Basically, when God constructed the cosmos, the speed of light was instantaneous. Ever since then, light has been slowing down; that's why the light from distant stars seems to take many years to get to us. Some even claim to have calculated the speed of decline, and (surprise!) 6,000 years ago is when the speed of light reaches infinity.
Its all very amusing, but just mentioning this example is enough to initiate some critical thinking on their part.
