RICHMOND, Va. The Michael Vick dogfighting case made its way to the floor of the U.S. Senate Thursday when its most senior member publicly declared his outrage, saying he's witnessed one execution but wouldn't mind seeing another "if it involves this cruel, sadistic, cannibalistic business of training innocent, vulnerable creatures to kill."

Is Byrd calling for a lynching? Some folks never change ...
“...its most senior member publicly declared his outrage, saying he’s witnessed one execution..”
What a joke. Grand Kleagle Robert Byrd of the KKK was probably involved in more than 1 execution. Wonder how many people were lynched under his supervision. Lest we forget - this creature sent a letter to then president Truman after WW2 demanding that black and white solders be segregated after they returned home from the front. Scum....this clown has no right to seak about decency.
My Husband has been reading about all this. I cannot believe such a depraved mind made it to the NFL!
LOL.
If he were a Repbulican Al Sharpton would be jumping up and down demanding he resign.
I want to see a perp walk for Vick and any other fools out there that engage in this. And don't get me started on how cruel and down right idiotic the people are who are involved in this. I have to go with PETA on this one. There is something wrong with a person who does this to a dog.
Camera-hungry Senators looking for another reason to appear in-touch and important.
And I cannot believe such a depraved mind made it to the Senate!
You can take the gangsta outta the hood but you can’t always take the hood outta the gangsta.
Although the leaked evidence thus far seems pretty solid, of course he’s innocent until proven guilty, but the only thing more idiotic than Vick’s ALLEGED participation in this career-destroying stupidity is the obscene salaries paid these clowns for hurling an oblate spheroid to one another. Those levels give some of them the idea that they’re bulletproof and outside the rules applied to mere mortals like the morons whose season tickets and product purchases make those salaries possible and give these guys hero status.
They are hardly heroes.
The REAL heroes are dodging bullets and IEDs in Iraq and Trashcanistan — at 1% (or less) of the pay these clowns get for dodging tackles.
Bracing for massive flames from “da sports fans” in here.
It is comforting that our Senators have taken on this important issue.
They did a great job on the steroid hearings a while back also.
I assume, they will soon start debate on other issues that affect the welfare and security of the United States, like the DC madam case.
That wasn't serious, was it?
Vick is certainly depraved...but he ain't alone in the NFL.
Its neck and neck with the NBA.
... and the abortion mill grinds on and on and on...
If anyone wants to hear the speech:

You are sooooo right.
THE REAL HEROES ARE DODGING BULLETS AND IED’S.
Lets send Vicks to Iraq and drop him off in some “rough areas’ and see just how tough he is!
By the way...Nike is still making even MORE money selling Vicks products...and even one “ Vick Hero Boys T shirt “.
go ahead, try to get in touch with Nike...they don’t care...more Blood Money.
Huge sports fan here. I agree 100% with what you said. No flames from me.
Hubbys been reading to me the allegations. Dunking dogs in water and electrocuting them. Hanging them, beating them. What kind of mind gets pleasure from things like that!! I certainly hope there aren't many more Vicks in the NFL. If he treats animals like this with others around I can only imagine what he'd do to a child in his home.
Lots of sports reward having a taste for violence.
Real sports enthusiasts do usually defer to and praise the REAL heroes you speak of.
