A voice of reason, finally.
It's easy for anybody to say that any religion other than their own is a "cult".
However last time I checked we live in a nation that guarantees and protects freedom of religion, and tolerance of different beliefs is a hallmark of that virtue.
This Neil Boortz' rant is nothing but divisive and inflamatory.
So, can I assume that when Muslims march, calling for the death of us infidels and that Jewish people are pigs & monkeys that you are filled with Warm Fuzzies of Ultimate Inclusiveness & Love?
This Neil Boortz' rant is nothing but divisive and inflamatory.
Talk about mixed signals.......
You say, However last time I checked we live in a nation that guarantees and protects freedom of religion, and tolerance of different beliefs is a hallmark of that virtue.
I could not agree more with that statement.
And exactly how does Allah and his teachings meet those "guarantees and protect(ions) of freedom of religion?"

I can't decide whether I agree with what Boortz did or not.
On the one hand, he IS right in that Islam is a cult - It never ceases to amaze me how singular Islam as a belief system, and Muslims as those who follow that belief system, are about their devotion to Mohammed. They get annoyed when you question them about Allah and perhaps even suggest that Allah was merely a monotheised 7th century Arabian moon god. But one word against Mohammed, and they fly into a rage. Those Danish cartoonists could have sketched pictures of Allah sitting on the throne with a newspaper (you know which throne I mean), and we wouldn't have seen nearly the response as the Mohammed cartoons created. Clearly, Islam is a personality cult - Mohammed was just Jim Jones times a billion.
But, all the same, Boortz says what he says not, I don't believe, out of any real knowledge of Islam, but merely because he doesn't like religion in general. Islam merely provides him a convenient way to say what he'd really like to say about Christians, without losing 70% of his listeners. Boortz is a snake in the grass, and even when he throws red meat out there about Islam and Muslims and terrorism, never forget that he probably thinks that the Christians out handing out Gospel tracts are as "dangerous" as Muslims flying airplanes into buildings.
Islam is an Arab-centric RELIGION of meteorite worshippers that seeks world domination through violence. There, does that make you feel better?
And what if that religion is diametrically opposed to freedom?
They can't coexist. One of them has to subjugate itself to the other.
Boo hoo. I agree with Boortz.
I have friends of various religions and a wife of a different religion than I. But I do and will continue to call Islam, Scientology, and Mormonism CULTS!
My tolerance ends at the doorstep of each and every mosque in this country that does not step out and vocally condemn radicalism! Those who do not are my enemy, and as Boortz says, they need to be eradicated like beetles...........
Your "Freedom and Tolerance" have been so over used by the leftists and our enemies that they have lost their legitimacy. Legal words have now taken precedence over basic common sense..........
Oh stop being a pantywaist putz. The man was speaking his mind; offering an opinion that any thinking person happens to agree with.
He is not in a position to neuter the Constitution and you full well know it. Your strawman whining is ridiculous.
Grow up, know your enemy. They’d sooner slit your throat than look at you, infidel, so get off your little soapbox.
The Muslim leader said he does not believe in democracy and insists there is no such thing as freedom of religion, "because freedom is an absolute term.""Are we to say that Muslims can fully practice religion in America," he asked in an attempt to explain. "Say, for instance, I was a Muslim in America. Could I call for the destruction of the American government and establishment of an Islamic state in America? No. So where is the freedom of religion? There is none."
Humphries asked: "Do you call for that?"
"Of course," he replied, "we want Islam to be a source of governance for all of mankind. And we also believe that one day America will be ruled by Islam."
Nothing in the Constitution tells me I have to tolerate anything, including idiots and terrorists and cults of death. Go back to the library and look it up. The big words aren't that hard to figure out.
Islam is a cult, pure and simple. Anyone who doesn't have the reasoning skills to figure that out is blind, very blind. And that kind of religious system is not guaranteed any rights except the right to be jailed or wiped out.
It's also true.
and about time someone refuses to genuflect to the mooseslimes conditioning that forbids anyone to issue a word or phrase that may "offend" their sensitive psyches - they who cut off heads with bread knives and deliberately blow up innocent men, women and children.
People who are kow towing to this PC blackmail: "Say nothing to offend us or beware the consequences" are guilty of either ignorance or cowardice.
I actually had someone, the other day, in answer to my remark that a mooseslime imam had warned England that they would pay for the insult of Knighting the now Sir Ahmed Salman Rushdie, - this someone said: "Well, they should have known better."
(mouth dropped)
"Excuse me?"
"They should have known it would offend them and not have done it."
So we have come a long way towards 'learning our place' - and falling under control by intimidation.
I did mention that cutting off head and blowing up innocent people seemed a bit offensive in my way of thinking ...
How do the Muslims characterize Christians, I wonder? Do you think they call Christians simply another religion, on a par with their own? We both know the answer to that, so let’s not get too caught up in Bortz’s calling Islam a cult.
The larger point made by Boortz has not been taken up on this thread. Where is CAIR and the Islamic community when atrocities are committed in the name of Islam? They say little or nothing. Yet they get all exercised over a cartoon depicting Islam in a less than favorable light. Perhaps it IS time that we answer Islam tooth for tooth, eye for eye, life for life... At least they would understand that.
I will only believe that Muslims are willing to peacefully coexist with others when I see a Muslim country that practices religious tolerance and has basic human rights for its citizens. Right now, they all look like time stopped in the dark ages.
Do you have any criticism for Islam, the religion that refuses to tolerate any other, and will kill those who speak out about their intolerance?
Some wise American jurist, I think it was a 19th century SCOTUS Justice, once said that the Constitution is not a suicide pact. Allowing a demonic death cult such as Islam to live among us while it metastasizes like a cancer in our flesh is the same as committing suicide. If they ever get their way here every American will either convert to Islam, live in virtual slavery as dhimmis, or be killed.
Actually, according to the Koran only "people of the book" i. e., Christians and Jews, can be allowed to have the "privileged" status of dhimmihood. People of all other religions or no religion must either convert to Islam or be killed.
Who was that Supreme Court Justice who said once, "the Constitution is not a suicide pact"?
Islam is based on a screed which recognizes NO (shouting intended) "freedom of religion" or "tolerance of [the] different beliefs" of others. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Zero. Are you unfamiliar with the terms, "infidel" and "dhimmitude"?
Quite frankly, I will exercise my own First Amendment rights and state that I do not consider Islam to be a bona fide "religion", nor do I believe that either Islam or its followers should be covered under the protections of our Constitution and its amendments, first and following. I will go further and state that I believe that the Constitution should be changed to reflect this, and that - someday, perhaps after a nuclear attack upon America - it WILL be changed to exactly that.
This is called "self preservation" in the face of an enemy that would use our own freedoms to gain the necessary power to enslave us. And I have no qualms - NONE - about denying Islamics that freedom and power.
That is strictly my own opinion, but I daresay that many other members of this forum share similar beliefs that are not far removed from my own.
