Who knew Bill Kristol had such a flair for satire?

How else to read his piece for Outlook on Sunday, in which he declared, "George W. Bush's presidency will probably be a successful one"? Surely Kristol, the No. 1 cheerleader for the Iraq war, was mocking himself (and his neoconservative pals) for having been so mistaken about so much. But just in case his article was meant to be a serious stab at commentary, let's review Kristol's record as a prognosticator.

This is a rebuttal of a Bill Kristol piece (linked above) and the first thing he does is go through a list of big things Kristol got wrong (from a website that tracks such things.) As is typical, the stuff Kristol got wrong is not clearly wrong. So, I did a quick search of Google on David Corn and clicked at random on an article he wrote entitled:

6 Bush Scandals To Come

Hah! He didn't get a single one right...uh, hmmm. On a second look, I guess this is supposed to be satire. There must be inside jokes galore here, but liberals just are not funny anymore. Well, okay this is not a good example of where Corn is a bad prognosticator, but it is an example of how bad he is at satire. No wonder he thinks the Kristol piece might be satire.

I would have figured they'd give up on the "worst economy since Hoover" bit after it failed miserably in 2004. Should a Dem win the WH in 2008, watch how everything "miraculously" reverses...best economy in 50 years, low unemployment, budget surplus, etc.....

What a fool. Uh, you think it might be due to the fact that Americans are contributing salary and wage dollars in record amounts to IRA and 401k accounts?
