NEWARK, New Jersey (Reuters) - A former White House official who took top secret documents from U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney's office and gave them to opposition figures in the Philippines was sentenced on Wednesday to 10 years in prison.Philippine-born Leandro Aragoncillo, a U.S. citizen and former Marine, pleaded guilty last year to taking the documents that included details on threats against U.S. government interests and military personnel in the Philippines.
Aragoncillo worked on the security detail assigned to the vice president from 1999 to 2002, where he held a top security clearance. He later took a job as an intelligence analyst with the FBI in New Jersey.

Meanwhile Sandy Berger still walks free.
Just wait until he's on Hillary's National Security team !!
This “Cheney Aide” worked for AlGore longer — if you check the dates in the article...
Al Reuters strikes again......
Sandy Burglar? No, he only destroyed incriminating evidence. Not that the security detail guy should get any slack - he should rot in a dark hole for a long, long time - but when will the Burglar get his?
What did Sandy Berger get? I missed the coverage of his trial.
The information he stole did not come from the Vice President's office, but the FBI station he worked at in NJ after he was no longer part of the Vice President's security detail.
This headline is written to implicate the Vice President in espionage.
I believe he was also an aide for Gore.
Chenney wasn’t VP until Jan 2001.
This guy was in his position 1999-2002.
He wasn’t Chenney’s guy. He was inherited—probably via a career bureacrat path.
Though the MSM may want to paint this as another example of the failures of the administration this would be inaccurate.
“According to friends, in addition to his work for Cheney and Gore, Aragoncillo claimed he also worked with President Clinton and Condoleezza Rice when she was the national security advisor”
http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/Story?id=1187030&page=2
That’s exactly what I thought of.
He got a $50,000 fine. He lost his Security Clearance for a couple of years. BUT he will be back in line for a job in the next Democratic Presidential bid. He of course was on Kerry's re-election effort last time.
Now what is the difference? Two men doing essentially the same thing: Both were stealing TOP SECRET documents from the government.
BUT Sandy Berger was protecting Clinton and the biggest lie the government has ever been involved in. You see, when it's necessary, the government can tell whatever lie is necessary. Berger was trying to make sure YOU didn't figure out what happened in the 1990's that led up to 9/11. The talk show hosts think that Berger was taking documents that showed Clinton could have got Osama before 9/11 but it's worse, MUCH WORSE than that.
IF YOU ever figure it out, then the whole house of cards could come crashing down on both parties. These guys are protecting each other.
Here' the answer, but you won't believe it, not yet. It's going to take another 9/11 but probably worse. (Because it's been almost 50 years since the government told the biggest lie in history and got away with it). Actually, it's hard to tell which is the biggest lie, but it doesn't matter. YOU WON'T BELIEVE the truth no matter what happens, even though it's staring you in the face.
The EXPLANATION: Sandy Berger is covering up Bill Clintons GREATEST CRIME (2004)

Wouldn’t 1999 to 2002 mean that he first went to work for Al Gore?
Rush just explained that fact. He worked for the VP during X-42 and was "caught" by the Bush administration.
How is a security officer an ex-Cheney aide?
The lefties are really reaching now.
“Ex-Clinton Official joins Long List of Felons”
There fixed it.
Just the DBM doing what is does best. Text Book.
Thanks for cleaning up the story. Is it any news that you can’t believe anything you read in the MSM?? This was a deliberate attempt, as they all are, to slam the Bush administration once again.
You know Chrissy Matthews is crying as we speak.
