Something brewing in Israel
eye on the ground | July 18 2007 | American in Israel

Posted on 07/17/2007 10:56:59 PM PDT by American in Israel

Just a freeper observation, but there are strong indications that next week, during the time of the 9th of AV, that there will be a serious Arab attack on Israel.

The word on the street from the local Palestinians is to quote from a few "There will no longer be a Zionist problem in Palestine this month." Nobody is really talking, but I am getting veiled warnings from Palestinian friends. One such warning was a rather cryptic answer to a pointed question about war with Israel; "Do you know what the 9th of Av is? Every time Israel fights a war on the 9th of Av it looses"... People refuse to talk about war or answer any direct questions. This is very uncharacteristic for Palestinians; usually they are very verbally expressive. The following is what got me to finally write this note to you all. It is an excerpt from an email sent to me by a friend.

Today we had business to do in Jerusalem, so we left our home at 7 am and traveled down the east side of the Galilee, through Bet Shean and past the check point at Sede Trimot in the Jordan Valley.

Once we entered the Jordan Valley as we passed through the Arab agricultural areas we noticed the following which is most unusual;

1. There were no people visible working the in the fields. 2. There were no children along the side of the road.
3. There were no tractors or other farm vehicles anywhere to be seen.
4. All of the vegetables had been completely harvested and the fields were 100% empty.
5. No preparation of the fields was evident for the next planting...Plastic was everywhere from the prior crop.
6. The greenhouses had no plants in them..... 7. The vegetable stands that are normally filled to the brim from the harvest were completely vacant.
8. This is the peak season for growing vegetables in the Jordan Valley, yet everything had been harvested and nothing was growing waiting to be harvested or picked.

We concluded our business in Jerusalem and got back on the road again about 2:45 pm heading north up the Jordan Valley. Again, no people, no fruit stands, no crops, nothing!
Do these Arabs know something is about to happen that we do not know is coming? The 9th of Av is on July 23rd, which is the exact day both Temples in Jerusalem were destroyed hundreds of years apart...

This is just not how things are this time of year normally. The entire valley is the best land for growing crops in Israel and completly under the control of the Arabs. This land is the Palestinian food supply. For some reason they do not believe they need the food this year!

A friend of mine that is politicaly connected mentioned that he was thinking that the first attack date for the Arab League may be the 9th of AV, and the Sept/Oct period as the backup date. He does not believe that Syria will be ready by next week, so he thinks they will use the fall back date. However Hamas/Fatah have their people totally prepared for the first date. They may jump, even if Syria gives the no signal.

As a Biblical side reference, Isaiah 14 28-33, and Zephaniah 2 refer I believe to the destruction of the modern day Palestinians. Interestingly enough it says: " I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall slay thy remnant.." Zehpaniah 2 indicates that the industrial city of Ashkelon, (third largest city in Israel I believe), will be wiped out, but that a smoke cloud from its direction will go over Gaza, and I think kill most of the inhabitants there. Ashkelon is due north of Gaza and just a kassams throw away.

This is just a few various observations I am bringing together, but they ominously point to the same thing, a major Palestinian ground offensive may take place just next week.

“Expect the unexpected...that’s all.”
I agree that vigilance is definitely prudent.

I, for one, was impressed with Hezbollah’s execution of the capture of those Israeli soldiers at the border which started the summer war in Lebanon. It showed that the operational capabilities of Hezbollah were better than I expected. Of course, the Izzies then proceeded to whack them soundly.

With what weapons? Rocks and their bottle rockets are going to do much damage.

I don’t really buy the “let’s sacrifice our countries to further the cause of islam” angle. Sure, Ahamanutjob might think that, but I doubt he has control over any missile launches.

Contrary to a lot of people, I don’t see Assad as downright stupid either. Sure, they have a defense pact with Iran, but if the U.S. or Israel were to smack Iran, I don’t think we’d be seeing any Syrian military operations.

Iran is a power in the region, but they are a limited power at best. Because they don’t have adequate refinement capabilities, they have a shortage of gasoline despite sitting on a buttload of oil. Furthermore, their economy is in the dumps. It takes a lot of money to project your power.

Why would Israel nuke Amman? I realize I’m something of an optimist, but I like to think that the Jordanians (at least the monarchy) are more reasonably folk. After all, didn’t Hussein try and warn Israel before the Yom Kippur War? Also, the fallout might conceivably hit Israel, or, although we’re a ways away, us in Iraq.

Course if the Syrian launch their chemical weapons at Israel, we’d at least get to see the Arrow system in action.

“Those musings seem to assume that the Jiadi’s et al

are . . .

rational.”

And at the top they largely are. There’s a reason you don’t see the mullahs, ayatollahs, hoojibs, et al. lining up to go kaboom.

Well, I’ve heard that they were the Scythians and other related peoples, but due to various people movements, they went bye bye and modern day Russians have nothing to do with them.

Also, I’ve heard it said that Gog and Magog represent the unbelievers of the world.

Personally, I figure the end will come when God decides and don’t put to much stock in the Armageddon lookout club. After all, the roof could collapse over me right now, so we have to be ready, regardless.

Thanks for the pic. I thought Gog and Magog went together, so it’s interesting to see Gog represented as Europe.

Anyways, I don’t put too much stock in this kind of stuff, but thanks for the response.

"Prayers for all in Isreal."

I pray that God's people will pray for all people in every nation. We are all the children of Abraham if we have faith in the one and only God and his son Jesus Christ.

"It takes a lot of money to project your power."

In case of the USA it is a lot of borrowed money. Note how the greenback has been tumbling lately, it is not a coincidence.

It’s true that we run a pretty big trade deficit, but we still have a lot of foreign investment to back us up. With Iran, the don’t really have that.

Of course, I still don’t see how Syria could afford to buy the arms they recently purchased from Russia (I suspect Iran paid for it expecting to a chunk in return), so maybe there are economic factors at play that I’m unaware of.

Really, it fits, sadly. Europe is anti-semitic. I was puzzled by that map at first, but now it makes sense when I cut thru the PC crap.

England has never supported the Jews.

Yes, the mercy and grace ofGod has been a part of why we are still existing, but God has destroyed civilizations in the history of the world for being at the state of depravity that we are now.

The "financial support for some state" is the United States of America being just about the only nation on earth that is on Israel's side.

Genesis 12:3 has been in effect from the time the words were spoken, and still hold true today:

I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."

"Financial support for some state" is us sending money to the "Palestinians". This nation's support and defense of Isreal is an act of survival, espcially in this day and age when God has absolutely no other reason whatsoever to spare America from annihilation.

“The harvest is over. Why would anybody be in an empty field? Sounds like tinfoil alert to me....”

I tend to agree, however, I do have a question. Since it is only July, do they not plant a second crop to harvest before winter? Seems like you could get two growing seasons in each year in that part of the world.

Perhaps some other Israel based Freepers can go check it out and report back?

“You made a very harsh judgment of me in the beginning which I did not really see as fair.”

Yes I did and it was wrong and I am sorry for it. I apologize. Another sin was not following a directive of the holy spirit to write you an apology after I wrote my last post. “Dinner’s ready.” Off I went rather than eat a warm as opposed to a hot dinner. The 5 senses ripped me and you off. Wouldn’t have taken more than 2 minutes.

I’ve got your entire post in a safe place and I will look up those sites.

“I am using a study that is so easy to understand and requires you to back all of your conclusions with scripture.”

Great! Without Scripture to back it up I would not believe it unless their was divine intervention. I have at this time a love/hate relationship with our times. I know that someday all evil will be wiped out but until then I hate the evil I see but love the fact it is one day closer to nothing but the Righteousness of God living fully in every Christian. Sean Hannity, back when I used to listen to him often said “Let not your heart be troubled” but it still was and is. Your name and my tagline both say we are troubled by what may happen and we hate the thought of it. But I am looking forward to your sites and being comforted by the Scriptures in them.

There are some doctrines that are lauded to the skies that I hear all the time like the Trinity and Heaven/Hell but I believe the holy spirit field has been suppressed by the devil. It is rarely ever talked about and when I try to engage a conversation in it it usually dies on the spot. (I use the small “h” and small “s” in holy spirit for the gift of holy spirit that God created in us when we were baptized in it). God is Holy and God is Spirit so God would be Holy Spirit. The KJV uses this accurately most of the time but sometimes they got it wrong but in context it is usually discernable. I have no sites to send you to because I have not found one yet that is accurate. I was taught the basics of the holy spirit field 30 years ago and it has been a quest ever since then. But through one other man and the holy spirit showing me Scripturally some things I was taught were wrong. But I am very glad for your encouragement and your recognizing this field has been squelched. “ Jesus describes Him as “One who is even greater then Me” and yet we stick Him in the proverbial corner. We are so busy with our lives and the way we operate we can ilconcieve God and the Holy Spirit and put them in a box.”

“I encourage and support you in your pursuit of the truth.”

Thank you so much and my prayer is the same to you. To LOVE the Truth. May God grant us Truth.

I also believe that the event is in the near future but this time thing is what gets all of us Christian expositors both amateur and professional into trouble.

We tend to think of 5,10,20,50 or 100 years as a long time and this can creep into our evaluations so fast and easy that it can stun, even though we are aware of the misinterpretations it can cause.

We must remember that God is an infinite being outside of time to whom "a thousand years is but the twinkling of an eye or a watch in the night". That is not an exact quote but close.

I think the scriptures are quite clear on the fact that we are in the "latter times","years" or "days".

What we don't know is how long the latter years, times or days are

In Ezekiel 38:8 you have the "latter years" described as that time when Israel is in the land. So we know that we have been in the latter years at least since 1948 .. We will probably find it longer if we study.

We do know if we meet the requirements mentioned in my other posts we can know the things that will affect our generation.

Amo 3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.

Psa 25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

Joh 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

Ezekiel is the key book where the past and the future Temple is concerned. The last 8 chapters alone speak of the building of them and the worship in them not counting the rest of the book.

Ezekiel is appointed watchman over them.

In chapters 38&39 God prepares the way for the building and the restoration of worship.

He does this through a indisputable miraculous victory that provides them rest [peace] from those enemies around them that would under no circumstances allow them to do so, by giving them the strong desire, they as basically a secular nation do not now have, to resume worship by saving them from what will seem certain destruction and by cleansing the blood defiled land on which the temple is to be built and there is only one way that the land can be cleansed.

Num 35:33 So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.

A temple must exist and worship services must be restored before the last 3 1/2 years of the Great Tribulation takes place, therefore some of the events in Ezekiel 38 & 39 must take place some period of time before it.
