Something brewing in Israel
eye on the ground | July 18 2007 | American in Israel

Posted on 07/17/2007 10:56:59 PM PDT by American in Israel

Just a freeper observation, but there are strong indications that next week, during the time of the 9th of AV, that there will be a serious Arab attack on Israel.

The word on the street from the local Palestinians is to quote from a few "There will no longer be a Zionist problem in Palestine this month." Nobody is really talking, but I am getting veiled warnings from Palestinian friends. One such warning was a rather cryptic answer to a pointed question about war with Israel; "Do you know what the 9th of Av is? Every time Israel fights a war on the 9th of Av it looses"... People refuse to talk about war or answer any direct questions. This is very uncharacteristic for Palestinians; usually they are very verbally expressive. The following is what got me to finally write this note to you all. It is an excerpt from an email sent to me by a friend.

Today we had business to do in Jerusalem, so we left our home at 7 am and traveled down the east side of the Galilee, through Bet Shean and past the check point at Sede Trimot in the Jordan Valley.

Once we entered the Jordan Valley as we passed through the Arab agricultural areas we noticed the following which is most unusual;

1. There were no people visible working the in the fields. 2. There were no children along the side of the road.
3. There were no tractors or other farm vehicles anywhere to be seen.
4. All of the vegetables had been completely harvested and the fields were 100% empty.
5. No preparation of the fields was evident for the next planting...Plastic was everywhere from the prior crop.
6. The greenhouses had no plants in them..... 7. The vegetable stands that are normally filled to the brim from the harvest were completely vacant.
8. This is the peak season for growing vegetables in the Jordan Valley, yet everything had been harvested and nothing was growing waiting to be harvested or picked.

We concluded our business in Jerusalem and got back on the road again about 2:45 pm heading north up the Jordan Valley. Again, no people, no fruit stands, no crops, nothing!
Do these Arabs know something is about to happen that we do not know is coming? The 9th of Av is on July 23rd, which is the exact day both Temples in Jerusalem were destroyed hundreds of years apart...

This is just not how things are this time of year normally. The entire valley is the best land for growing crops in Israel and completly under the control of the Arabs. This land is the Palestinian food supply. For some reason they do not believe they need the food this year!

A friend of mine that is politicaly connected mentioned that he was thinking that the first attack date for the Arab League may be the 9th of AV, and the Sept/Oct period as the backup date. He does not believe that Syria will be ready by next week, so he thinks they will use the fall back date. However Hamas/Fatah have their people totally prepared for the first date. They may jump, even if Syria gives the no signal.

As a Biblical side reference, Isaiah 14 28-33, and Zephaniah 2 refer I believe to the destruction of the modern day Palestinians. Interestingly enough it says: " I will kill thy root with famine, and he shall slay thy remnant.." Zehpaniah 2 indicates that the industrial city of Ashkelon, (third largest city in Israel I believe), will be wiped out, but that a smoke cloud from its direction will go over Gaza, and I think kill most of the inhabitants there. Ashkelon is due north of Gaza and just a kassams throw away.

This is just a few various observations I am bringing together, but they ominously point to the same thing, a major Palestinian ground offensive may take place just next week.

Yes, this year the 9th of Av = July 23rd.

Correction: the 9th of 'Av this year equals the night of 7/23 and the day of 7/24.

I didn't think the Pukestinians acknowledged the ancient presence of Israelites to build temples to be destroyed. How could the ancient Israelis be defeated on 9 Av if there were no ancient Israelis?

Because they are people and each one is an individual and not locked in to a “hive” control of their minds.
Some are liberal. some are conservative(politically) some are damned hostile.
That is the nature of Americans of EVERY ethnic or religious origin.
Some are Zionist. Some are not.
Some are religious some are secular. some are traditionalist some are opponents as in Mitnagadim.(Google that)
It all depends.

Some laugh at your belief in a secoming of Jesus, some laugh at the coming of the Mosiach (Jewish Messiah's return).
Leave it alone. All you will do is give your self a headache.
I know thousands of Jews(am one) and each is as different as a drop of rain water in a meadow's pool.

I'm assuming they mean that 'Israel loses', but can any of them say when Israel has LOST any real war that has been made on her? Both Arab attacks, in 1967, and again in 1973, ended with vital gains in land area for Israel, most notably the Golan Heights.

Maybe the Palestinians and other Arabs are thinking that because Olmert weenied out in Lebanon last year that the Israeli military is a pushover now. I believe it would be fatal for them to think that way, but far be it from me to try to convince them otherwise.

You expect logic from them?

Someone asked why Condi cancelled her trip to Israel this week.

Because she does not need the grief of being seen smiling and shaking hands with that asshole Olmert after he is blasted by the chair of the winograd commission and the State Comptroller(read: Inspector General of the Nation)for stupidity and incompetence.
Sort of like not wanting to shake the hand of someone who went to the toilet carelessly and did not wash afterwards.

You must read the Old and New in conjunction. They ABSOLUTLY support one another. If you open your heart you will see that Jesus is the absolute fulfillment of the over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament regarding the Messiah.

Jewish leaders of today and yesterday, unfortunately are/were looking for a Messiah that will/would free the Jewish people from their enemies of this world. Since Jesus didn’t arrive as an earthly king and wipe out the Roman empire they dismissed him. What they missed is that He came to conquer the ruler of this world (Satan), the real enemy, and has already set them free through His perfect blood sacrifice. Not freedom from the oppression of earthly rulers, but freedom from the punishment of sin.

While I am confident that we disagree on many points, I have nothing but love for my Jewish brothers and sisters and stand behind Israel. Prayers for you and yours.

“I think it is a cop out by so many.”

This is the statement that I have trouble with. You are making a judgement call that isn’t yours to make. I could have said this was arrogance but if you think about it arrogance is really self righteousness. “Those Christians don’t do such and such but I do it” which is a setting yourself above those people and feeling superior to them. Spiritual arrogance is the way I see it and like I said it really is self righteousness.

Rom 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

It may be a cop in your eyes but who are you to judge another man’s servant? It is in the eyes of the master if the servant pleases or displeases him. Christian’s have a Master in Jesus Christ and it is his judgement that is the only one that matters. To judge his Church or a portion of his Church is really saying God and Jesus Christ are not doing their job. The Apostle Paul never said that it was his job to present the Church holy and without blame before God Almighty. His job was to plant and water. It is the job of Jesus Christ to present his Church before God holy and without blame. So if there is anything lacking in the Church Jesus Christ will be working on it.

This judgement of Christians by other Christians is rampant and I am guilty of it too. No one, I believe, is without sin in this regard.

We clearly do disagree on many matters of theology, though I am glad to hear of your compassion for Jews and your backing of Israel. I know from looking at many of your other posts over time that you're a thoroughly decent person. WRT Judaism as a theology and its prophecies, though, I think that you are somewhat misinformed:

The idea that someone else could sacrifice for anyone else's sins appears nowhere in Judaism (same with the concept of forgiving someone for their sins against a 3rd party - I'm often asked why Jews can't forgive the Nazis for murdering other Jews...its impossible, even G-d Himself cannot forgive for wrongs not done to Him, so how could I do it?).

As for defeating Satan (who's not a fallen angel, not some red guy with hoofs, horns and a pointy tail, not a rival of any kind, but rather a tempter of Man at G-d's behest and command - "ha satan" - the satan, not "Satan" as in a proper name) - that's up to each of us to defeat our own personal Evil Inclination. No one can do it for us, that's our own burden to fulfill by deeds.

There's also no concept, no hint of any kind, of a Messiah needing a do-over to complete his job - and there's no way that the Jesus of your faith (or anyone else, for that matter) ever completed the job. BTW, Jesus was rejected by the vast majority of the Jewish People of the time because they recognized that Jesus didn't measure up to the status of Moschiach (however good Jesus may have been).

Please read the links I gave you - Jesus was Jewish and from Bethlelem (Beit Lechem, actually), but that's about all. Its too general, too many people (including King David) meet those broad criteria. Moschiach ben David (the Messiah descended from David) will not be killed by anyone, period. Moschiah ben Yosef (descended from Joseph) will be a warrior who will (or may, depending on one's point of view) die while fighting the real-world enemies of Israel. Jesus qualifies as a candidate for neither position.

Again, I don't seek to insult you in any way, especially as you seem to be such a moral person, but your understanding of things Jewish seems to be somewhat less than complete.

I believe we’ll see it destroyed—even if from heaven.

I’m 60 years old and expect to see it destroyed.

Could happen with the attempt by Gog and Magog and Syria and Iran etc. to wipe Israel off the map.

Besides all that . . . Your instincts are not those of a novice there.

I think your instincts are quite well trained and balanced. And well worth trusting significantly, imho.

Thanks big.

I agree about Rosenberg’s books. Well connected person and his books are well researched.

Even his fiction is full of facts.

We have too many politicians getting in the way.

= = =

INDEED.

And

We have too many politicians

—who are brainless
—who are traitors
—who are power mongers
—who are arrogant
—who are globalists [one of those is too many we have a majority]
—who are plain evil
—who are rank hypocrites
—who wouldn’t recognize the moral high ground if it fell on them.
—who are hollow shells
—who are beyond worthless
—who are pathological liars—e.g. Shrillery Klintoon
— . . .

...also could happen purposely at the hands of Gog, Magog, Syria and Iran and then blaming Israel for its destruction. It's not as holy a place to Muslims as it is to Jews. And what's a little self destruction if it brings the whole world against Israel? I can see that happening.
