FBI: Iraqis Being Smuggled Across the Rio Grande
ABC ^ | July 17, 2007 3:11 PM | Brian Ross

Brian Ross Reports:

Fbiiraqisbein_mn

The FBI is investigating an alleged human smuggling operation based in Chaparral, N.M., that agents say is bringing "Iraqis and other Middle Eastern" individuals across the Rio Grande from Mexico.

An FBI intelligence report distributed by the Washington, D.C. Joint Terrorism Task Force, obtained by the Blotter on ABCNews.com, says the illegal ring has been bringing Iraqis across the border illegally for more than a year.

Border Patrol officials in the area said they were unaware of the specifics of the FBI's report, and federal prosecutors in New Mexico told ABCNews.com they had no current cases involving the illegal smuggling of Iraqis.

The FBI report, issued last week, says the smuggling organization "used to smuggle Mexicans, but decided to smuggle Iraqi or other Middle Eastern individuals because it was more lucrative." Each individual would be charged a fee of $20,000 to $25,000, according to the report.

The people to be smuggled would "gather at a house on the Mexican side of the border" and then cross the Rio Grande into the U.S., the report says.

The wall should have been in place a long time ago....Hey Jorge, you probably already let the worst of them in. Who is shocked by this report? We all had to wait for the F.B.I. to say it?? Terrorists are saying, “this is to easy”. There are probably many cells in place now. Why is the F.B.I. issuing this report now? I suspect they are doing some C.Y.A. before the shit hits the fan. Hey!...we told you so. It’s all so incredibly stupid!

I wonder how that border fence is progessing?

S.D. Border Fence Construction Resumes

An excerpt:

But before the construction resumed recently, the 14-mile project in San Diego was stalled for years by legal challenges from environmentalists, budget problems and difficulties buying land. Those delays are now raising doubts about a government plan to extend fencing to 370 miles of the Mexican border.

The Bush administration, under pressure to tighten border security, wants all 370 miles done by the end of next year.

Geez...looking at some of the comments on here, maybe I should make that just a tad bigger:

The Bush administration, under pressure to tighten border security, wants all 370 miles done by the end of next year.

The FBI is really behind the times.

I posted this TWO YEARS ago on my blog and also here at FR!

And not only that even where it happening - recently I also posted about an American guy over here involved in this scam and helping to move these people to the States.

----------------------------------------------------

"Off Serangoon Road in Singapore away from the city center, there is a money changer who has a sideline business arranging for workers from the Indian sub-continent to be sent to America. In recent months, the business has been quite brisk and for the most part on any given Sunday you can pass through the area and notice several men hanging around waiting for their opportunity to go.

Throughout South and Southeast Asia the money changer has a network of agents located in countries in the region such as Afghanistan, India and Pakistan. These agents work for the most part, not as money changer themselves, but as money lenders and employment agents recruiting for jobs in America.

The offer is not only lucrative, but seductive as well. The Afghan or Pakistani goes to the agent and can receive a "loan" to pass to his family, a set of new clothes and be advanced airline tickets for Singapore where he will meet the money changer or his agent. In the past the Singapore agents would typically apply for visas directly from the United States embassy on behalf of their "worker" who would be traveling to the United States for a previously agreed upon reason that might include looking at equipment or meeting with distributors of textiles etc. Since 2001 the agents have found this method to be more difficult as there are now more stringent controls on the approval of visas. Having said that, much of the logistics have now shifted to Central and South America with the workers being flown there via the Middle East.

In support of militant Islam and groups such as Al Qaeda, these agents and money changers have now in recent years expanded their operations into Central and South America where they work together to their counterparts in Mexico who will assist in getting the workers across the border and into the United States. Once across the border and into the United States the workers will be met by yet another group who will then take charge of the workers and deliver them to their respective jobs.

By the time the Afghan or Pakistani finds himself in America, he will have been "advanced" and charged anywhere from US30,000-US50,000 for their transport, food, and sundry expenses. He and the others with him will be provided with housing and a job with the expenses for housing and his "advance" being deducted from his paycheck each month. Any remainder can be remitted (for a fee) through the agents and sent back to his family overseas.

While many in America tend to see this precarious situation as a human rights violation, they need to be fully aware that these illegal immigrants are not victims. They have consciously elected to become indentured servants and have given their full faith and fealty to their agents and handlers. Whatever "work" that they may be required to do whether it be legal or illegal will be done and done without question. As difficult as it may be for many to accept, the threat we face is real. An army in the service of militant Islam is flooding across our nation's land borders completely unimpeded.

The solution to the problem is simple and the onus lies with no one except ourselves. Close the borders and close them now. Our nation's national security depends upon it.

This is from a pulled thread from 5/14.

I have no clue. It’s not classified. If it was, our Marine friend wouldn’t have told us. The watch commander told him it was not classified, but that they were on full alert. And it was in some media outlets, just not heavily like it should be. This is why they said it was pulled:

This thread has been pulled. Pulled on 05/14/2007 10:06:04 AM PDT by Admin Moderator, reason: LLSS

LLSS, other than the fact that it’s not classified! If you find a thread where it’s discussed, please let me know. My post is below. Thanks.

Yanked post:

Is there any new imformation about the 60 some Afghani Taliban terrorists that the FBI says crossed the Mexican border into Texas in order to covertly get to Fort Huachuca on the Mexican border with Arizona to launch an attack? A friend of my wife’s is a Marine MP stationed there and confirmed it. He said the south side of the base on the Mexican border has a large wall so an attack there from Mexico would be near impossible, so it made sense that they would try to cross into the U.S. and attack the base from the other directions. He also told her that the base was put on full alert late Friday night when the FBI briefed the base commander informing him about these terrorists. They’re supposedly armed with RPGs and machine guns, etc..

I may be remembering incorrectly, but isn’t Fort Huachuca also a large listening and intelligence gathering base? I seem to recall that it was used to monitor a lot of satellite, cell, land line, and internet communications. If that’s true, it would certainly make sense why terrorists would want to attack that base, though it seems pretty foolish, since even 60 men isn’t enough to take a U.S. military installation. They’d be wiped out in pretty short order.

This didn’t get any media play that we saw, but I called one of the Houston TV stations and they said it was on some of the evening and cable news broadcasts. Have there been any updates? We haven’t spoken to her friend since Saturday night when he told us about it. The shocking thing is that even this would not change the minds of opponants of a border wall. The lazy stupid retard gene runs strong and it runs deep for certain. If there is a thread with updates about this can someone please direct me to it? Thanks.

From the article:

Until recently, the United States has kept its doors all but shut to the estimated two million refugees fleeing the violence in Iraq. Until this year, the country had taken in fewer than 800 Iraqi refugees, according to the State Department. This May, the Bush administration pledged to resettle 7,000 Iraqi refugees here by the end of the year.

WTFityF? If these cowards won't stay and fight for their own homeland while American troops are there risking their lives, at least keep the fleeing cowards out of OUR country. Grrrrr

Come on, they just want to blow up the buildings Americans don't want to blow up...

WASHINGTON — A law to erect hundreds of miles of fence on the U.S.-Mexican border is on the books and money to start it has been okayed, but Republicans are nervous that now that they've lost control of Congress, they'll never see it built. The law passed last year says Congress, now in control of Democrats who generally oppose the fence, don't have to release money to build it until they approve of how the fence will be built. Based on the comments of some Democrats, there's no rush to make that happen.

You’re not the only one who sees it that way, but the GOP and the President think they need to pander politically to certain voting blocks. In the meantime they attempt to patronize their base and alienate people with comments such as from Bush referring to the Minutemen as “vigilantes” or threats such as “We’ll deal with them next”, referring to those demanding action.

They hear the screams, but hearing is not listening, and in 2008 when they sink the GOP and the MSM will have one thing in common when it comes to their analysis of why they failed, both will blame Iraq.

The open borders crowd is paying more attention to lowering their factory payrolls and that will last until the said factories get dirty bombed.

Then will need them to do the nuclear clean up "Americans won't do". /sarc

Really. Am I supposed to believe that? Am I supposed to believe that? Why, all these other folks are causing all the problems. NO SALE, BS ALERT.

They have had since 9-11 to secure the borders. They have done a piss poor job of it. The US Government would have full backing by US citizens to secure our borders. 9-11, itself was proof that it needed to be done. The US Government does not want the border fence, and US citzens know it.

If they can haul all the military over over across the oceans, equipment and all, they can build a fence. Maybe they could recruit the Chinese to do it. They got the hang of fence building a long time ago.

If the president wanted the damn wall built - it would be built. It is inexcusable that was are left vulnerable like this. All Homeland Security’s talk about border security would be absolutely laughable were it not so serious.

And this would only be unexpected by our government. The rest of us knew it was inevitable.

It makes me sick when lowlifes call us racist for wanting our borders protected. I would be surprised if Al Quada doesn’t have the ability to pull off a large scale attack after having six years to move men and material into the country. This is the main reason I am enraged at the government. We could pay a huge price for the pandering of greedy politicians.

But, bygawd, aren’t our airports safe? Here we are, shoeless, shampooless, eating with nerf spoons, and trying to calm screaming babies after 7 hour delays on tarmacs. While Iraqis quietly pay their twenty five thousand dollars and swim across a river. No country can survive this stupidity.
