Recently, FBI Director Robert Mueller, in an interview with NewsMax, confirmed Williams' main claim. Mueller said al-Qaida's paramount goal is clear: to detonate a nuclear device that would kill hundreds of thousands of Americans.
Mueller told NewsMax that at times, the threat feels so real he lies awake at night thinking about the prospect.
Williams maintains that al-Qaida is not content on blowing up one nuclear device or even simply a "dirty" nuke — but wants to explode real nuclear devices in seven U.S. cities simultaneously.

I have Liberal friends who were Conservative Converts on 9-12-2001, and are avid FR readers.
Once the comfy dream has ended, their beliefs turn out to have been fragile.
They expect the destruction of that site. It is part of their Final Battle, etc. They’ll probably take it out themselves.

Not quite, the yields were small but not insignificant. The claim to fame was an enhanced neutron and gamma output that would penetrate the shielding of Russian tanks and command/control bunkers.
The smallest neutron bomb (enhanced radiation device) was about .3 kilotons, equal in explosive power to 600,000 pounds of TNT. Compare the damage that would cause to McVeigh’s puny 7000 lb bomb!
The antinuke crowd tried to make a big deal out of the lie that a neutron bomb would only destroy people and not buildings, the moral outrage built on a falsehood.
I don’t think we field any now.
The real military problem being they would take days to croak and in the meantime you have some mightily annoyed enemy with tanks.

Oh sure. And we’re so weak and metrosexualized that we’d just become insignificant overnight. And no one would come to our aid. Abraham Lincoln said we’d never be taken out by a foreign army, we’d decay from the inside, and we sure have. It started with the hippy generation I think, and we’ve never recovered. We’re just so weak. A bunch of pansies. Caesar would have had the muslims taken out in a few days. He’d be using their skulls as drink holders.

Can't find the book at the moment but it was reported that the technologically advanced Maxim guns were just mowing down the jihadis - - and that one of the British officers found himself so disturbed at the carnage and the unfair advantage that the Maxim gun gave the British and so he decided to lead the calvary charge -- so that they could fight the jihadis anachronism versus anachronism. 48 British would lose their lives from that decision.
There is a very important lesson for us to learn from that battle - one that we still have not learned to this day.

When you have politicians whining about "collateral damage" which gets translated to combat commanders telling the troops that they have to ask permission to return fire, do you think that we'll drop a nuke? Christ, our guys aren't even allowed to fire a .223 round at the enemy.

Baghdad belongs to our allies (mostly).
“Prove” (nothing will every be sufficient, of course) that Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, etc., were part of the plot. We can’t nuke “innnocent” people in “innocent” nations.
