Even as John McCain's presidential campaign struggled to streamline after disappointing fundraising in the first quarter, it continued to add payroll, rent and other expenses to what became a bloated operation that couldn't support itself.
During the past three months, McCain added $229,900 in rent payments, about 20 aides and $434,100 in salaries, according to a finance report filed with the Federal Election Commission just before Sunday's midnight deadline.

So far the Fred Thompson campaign has spent.... nothing.
Of course if he's REALLY spiteful, he will offer to be Hillary's VP. (No joke - he would really do it.)
Reminds me of what Al Sharpton said to Howard Dean in the debate following the Iowa primary:
“If I spent as much money as you spent for the few delegates you got, I’d scream too.”
[he will offer to be Hillary’s VP]
That slot has been filled for months...Obama.
Agreed. A few years ago, I would not believe that Democrats would be willing to consider a black man on a Presidential ticket. Too far from the plantation and all that. Now I believe their "guilt factor" has reached historical proportions and they might actually consider it.
Then again, look at how they've treated Condoleeza Rice so horribly.
Hmm...
The McMeltDown
I like it.

*spews coffee*
Lol!....Maybe McCain’s whining about torture and promise to close Gitmo will cause a sudden surge for him in the polls, hehe.

I will reissue my June prediction: juan mc kennedyâs âpresidential campaignâ will be over by the end of July. It has actually been over since the bush/kennedy amnesty bill died, but the consultants had to wait to make sure they got paid what they were owed before running out the door. We have already seen the orderly part, now we will see the mad dashers as the guys who now realize they will NOT be getting paid what juan owes them begin running anyway so they can caught on with other campaigns. This is how it works. I’ve been the guy who ran first and the guy who had to hang on until he got at least some of his money. juan’s campaign is only about tying things up right now.
Well, he practically begged to be Kerry’s VP.
I heard on the radio that GIULIANI has a vested interest in a North American Union.
Just the kind of guy we need to continue the Bush philosophy.
I hadn't heard that, but it wouldn't surprise me.
McCain did not have the temprament to run his own campaign which tells you a lot about what he would have done in any higher office than the one he now holds.
