Reid's Death Squad
INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY ^ | July 16, 2007

Posted on 07/16/2007 10:16:30 PM PDT by Kaslin

Leadership: Asked about the fate of the Iraqi people if the Democrats force a premature withdrawal, the Senate majority leader said they'd have to fend for themselves. Welcome back to the killing fields of Congress.

The sheer callousness of the Iraqi policy espoused by Harry Reid was exquisitely exposed by ABC's Jake Tapper's questioning at a Capitol Hill press conference Thursday.

Tapper's "World News" story on the confrontation began with the observation: "Some foreign policy experts predict that such a U.S. withdrawal could unleash genocide against innocent Iraqis. It's a subject Democrats don't want to discuss." Indeed.

On the heels of House passage of a resolution calling for troop withdrawal from Iraq, Tapper asked Reid a simple question: "Do you think the Iraqi people will be safer with U.S. troops out?"

Reid responded: "It is clear that the Iraqi people don't want us there. It is clear that there is now a state of chaos in Iraq. And it is up to the Iraqi people to make themselves safe."

When Tapper said to Reid he hadn't really answered the question, Reid responded: "This isn't a debate."

Tapper asked again, "Will the Iraqis be safer?" Reid asked if there were other questions.

Reid didn't make it clear which Iraqis want us out. Certainly not the millions of purple fingers belonging to the voters who risked their lives to establish an Iraqi democracy. Certainly not the tribal sheiks of Anbar, and now Diyala province, who, having seen the success of Gen. David Petraeus' surge, have aligned themselves with America and against al-Qaida in Iraq.

This sounds like progress, not chaos. Reid's policy would let the terrorists claim to have defeated both the Soviets in Afghanistan and America in Iraq, dwarfing in consequence Bill Clinton's shameful withdrawal from Somalia, which inspired Osama bin Laden to plan 9/11. Sectarian violence fanned by al-Qaida would not end. Nor would Iranian interference and arming of militia groups.

But the Democrats have no strategic plan for the region and, as Reid's remarks suggest, no conscience either.

Substitute "Vietnamese" for "Iraqi" in Reid's statements, and you have the policy of the Democratic "Watergate babies" 30-odd years ago. Elected in a fit of post-Watergate pique, one of their first actions was to vote to deny South Vietnam military aid.

Summary executions of tens of thousands of South Vietnamese began shortly thereafter. Hundreds of thousands more were forced into re-education camps as a million boat people fled on anything that would float. Countless thousands perished in the South China Sea. And let's not forget the killing fields of Cambodia, where 3 million were slaughtered — a reminder of what happens in the absence of both democracy and U.S. power.

Premature withdrawal from Iraq would be a death sentence for those who cooperated in building an Iraqi democracy. It could also be a death sentence for Americans — victims of the next 9/11, planned, financed and trained in a jihadist Iraq courtesy of another Democratic Congress.

Of COURSE the Democrats don’t want to discuss how many MILLIONS will be butchered by thier policy.

What are a few million deaths the liberal media will utterly ignore when there is a short-term political gain to be made by a Democrat?

Priorities, man....
It’s all about priorities...

The dead in Iraq won’t be ignored - they’ll be put on the eligible voters’ lists in every inner city in America.

The Rats ARE callous ba$tards. Yet another good call, IBD. Especially with those quotes.

Their editorials are great. A shame that they don’t seem to be e-mailable.

To Reid and the democrats blood is blood. They have been aiding in the slaughter of millions of alive unborn as a democrat empowerment scheme, what’s a few tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi’s sacrificed upon the democrat’s empowerment slab? Blood is blood, the democrat have a pact which requires the blood to flow for their empowerment. They look for new sources. So what’s new in the service to the father of lies a murderer from the start?

I heard this yesterday on Rush. Excellent post.

These democrats have no idea what is going on in Iraq, and misjudging the resolve of this country.

Reid is one of the worst traitors in US history. In top of that he is rude beyond belief and one of the most despicable politicians ever.

He is indeed. He wants an all nighter today, but that needs 60 votes which he doesn’t have (thanks to little Tommy Dashle) *snicker* Now the li(e)berals want an up or down vote on it. Now that the tables are turned they don’t like it

Fortunately the traitors are much less powerful than they, their media, and some knee jerk conservatives think they are. Basically they have lost almost all their real battles against the President.

The li(e)berals don’t have any new ideas. And because of that they expect everyone else to make the same mistakes they made
