Bush like Hitler, says first Muslim in Congress

Keith Ellison, a convert to Islam, has cultivated a moderate image since being elected last November
America's first Muslim congressman has provoked outrage by apparently comparing President George W Bush to Adolf Hitler and hinting that he might have been responsible for the September 11 attacks.
Addressing a gathering of atheists in his home state of Minnesota, Keith Ellison, a Democrat, compared the 9/11 atrocities to the destruction of the Reichstag, the German parliament, in 1933. This was probably burned down by the Nazis in order to justify Hitler's later seizure of emergency powers.
"It's almost like the Reichstag fire, kind of reminds me of that," Mr Ellison said. "After the Reichstag was burned, they blamed the Communists for it, and it put the leader [Hitler] of that country in a position where he could basically have authority to do whatever he wanted."
To applause from his audience of 300 members of Atheists for Human Rights, Mr Ellison said he would not accuse the Bush administration of planning 9/11 because "you know, that's how they put you in the nut-ball box - dismiss you".
Vice-President Dick Cheney's stance of refusing to answer some questions from Congress was "the very definition of totalitarianism, authoritarianism and dictatorship", he added.
Mr Ellison also raised eyebrows by telling his audience: "You'll always find this Muslim standing up for your right to be atheists all you want."
A convert to Islam who was previously linked to the extremist Nation of Islam, Mr Ellison, 42, has cultivated a moderate image since being elected last November, concentrating on issues such as health and education.
He is an outspoken critic of the war in Iraq. But he angered his own anti-war supporters by voting for a budget bill that aims to end the war over the next 18 months. His followers want an immediate withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.
After his speech was reported, Mr Ellison said he accepted that Osama bin Laden was responsible for 9/11. But his demagogic comments threaten to plunge him in controversy.
Mark Drake, of the Republican party in Minnesota, said: "To compare the democratically elected leader of the United States of America to Hitler is an absolute moral outrage which trivialises the horrors of Nazi Germany."
We're not. And now the foot is definitely in the door. Started in my home state, I'm afraid. And some people deride the UK.....
This islamakazi polidiot POS better keep his friggin pie hole shut, keep a low profile and just wait till he’s defeated in the next election....
His terrorist brethren is getting ready to dictate his future as a moderate anything connected to islam IMO.
Stay Safe Blam
That's just the REALLY frustrating part. Bad enough we have to keep an eye on foreign muslims. Why is our gov't helping them destroy us from within?

Congressman Keith Ellison speaks at CAIR Banquet

Thats right a United States congressman speaks at the First Annual CAIR Banquet.
...............................Ellison, less than three weeks ago, was the keynote speaker at the 4th Annual Convention of the Minnesota chapter of the Muslim American Society (MAS-Minnesota). While he spoke, MAS-Minnesota had on its website material discussing waging war against non-Muslims and the murdering of Jews. The material is still located on the groups site.
..............................Also speaking at the CAIR-Minnesota banquet will be CAIRs National Executive Director, Nihad Awad, and CAIRs National Communications Director, Ibrahim Hooper.
My thoughts exactly. It's bad enogh we support these people but the notion that they are our leaders and make decisions that affect our lives is more than I can take. If enough people feel like this, why do we let it continue? The place is so infested and corrupt the only sensibl;e thing to do is send them all home and start over.>
As someone else in the thread pointed out, perhaps Keef is paying the Prez a high compliment.
That was an easy question.
I have little doubt about the voting dead you mentioned. My grandfather lived to be a month short of 100 years and voted a straight republican ticket, always and without fail. Over the 20 years since his death I have often wondered if the rat party in Missouri has him voting democrat ever since.
I believe it was the time he had chili served at a White House dinner.
For God’s sake, Minnesota, did you guys really “hate” the big, bad Iraq War and big, mean and scary George Bush THAT MUCH last November to elect a guy like Mr. Ellison into a seat of power in our precious Capitol? You people are pathetic. You better redeem yourselves in ‘08 by either primarying this Muslim rat or just voting GOP. Until then, go screw yourselves.
In 1994 in response to the allegations Farrakhan made one of his most controversial statements. Farrakhan said in a speech: "The Jews don't like Farrakhan, so they call me Hitler. Well, that's a good name. Hitler was a very great man. - Wikipedia
Maybe Ellison was actually complimenting Bush?
Look its counter productive to label people in Minnesota as idiots because Ellison comes from a district that makes it easier for a Islamic Extremist to be elected. However 100% of the electorate in that district are not left wing nutjobs. If this pos gets reelected then there is no excuse for the good people in the district. You have a moral and ethical mission to see that he is removed from office in 2008. If he is reelected then all of the complaining from members of his district is a load of crap.
NOW DO YOUR DUTY.
