Since the dawn of the information age, groups have tried to manipulate news organizations by going after their advertisers. The first casualty was in the “Marlboro Man” and smoking. That battle still rages with hearings on Capitol Hill regarding the use of smoking in movies and the manipulation of the ratings system to appease the anti smoking crowd. Even in the recent attacks on the Fox News Channel, groups have used Rupert Murdoch’s relationship with cigarette maker Philip Morris (PM) and how that led to Murdoch’s vast media empire ignoring stories about the negative effects of smoking. It isn't enough, however, to try to control the behavior of the American people by controlling the legal products they have access to in the marketplace. The left wants to control what you think and read by controlling your information sources.

Fox News Channel is NOT conservative... yet the Left feels threatened by it. Perhaps because its not completely one sided like the rest of MSM. And they can't stand the thought of conservatives getting equal airtime with THEM. What they really want is the airwaves all to themselves. That's the Left's understanding of the "Fairness Doctrine."

its not that its conservative... its just that it has some right leaning commentators / news writers... and when you are hell bent on dominating all forms of media in order to push your propaganda model, fox news must go!

its kind of like democracy in the middle east... the existing governments know that if it were to take hold, they could lose their power base. and just like the left, they will fight any way they can to maintain that power.

FNC has liberals. The difference is the network doesn't claim they don't have a different approach to presenting the day's stories. They do. The rest of the MSM keeps pretending it has no agenda - which is clearly laughable.

no one denies the existence of global warming.. after all, we are no longer in the ice age. it's that people do not believe man is the cause of it, instead believing the massive fusion engine in the sky may have some impact.

Trying to avoid "offending" the Left is useless. They will find something to outrage them even if you go out of your way to avoid controversy. Rest assured, they will invent it if it serves their interests.

Fox News presents the news. WHo, what, where, why, when and how. The MSM presents the news using leftwing commentators.

However, Fox’s “commentators” are Conservative and they make no bones about it. In fairness, Fox News has more liberal commentators then the entire MSM has Conservative commentators combined.
