Michael Moore’s Next Film To Take On Homophobia? (gag)
Slashfilm ^ | July 11th, 2007 | Peter Sciretta

Michael Moore has tackled Downsizing, School Shootings, the culture of fear, The Iraq War, President Bush, and most recently - the American healthcare system. What’s next for the controversial documentary filmmaker? Homophobia. That’s right, Moore has revealed that homophobia and the anti-gay Christian right movement might be the topic of his next documentary.

“I think it’s a very ripe subject for someone like me to make a movie about. Simply because we are not there yet and it remains one of the last open wounds on our soul that we are not willing to fix yet,” Moore told The Advocate. “There is nowhere in the four Gospels where Jesus uses the word homosexual.’ The right wing has appropriated this guy … and they have used him to attack gays and lesbians, when he never said a single word against people who are homosexual. Anyone who professes to be a Christian and does that is certainly not following the teachings of Jesus Christ.”

Gay marriage has certainly become one of the hot button issues in this country. I can imagine the movie now: Moore will probably bring a Gay couple to a catholic church to get married. But when the parish turns him away, and Moore will pull out some clever funny idea that will get America to think “why not?”

Then Michael Moore will turn water into wine.

Jesus, hit man for the American right.

Michael Moore—a Rove plant designed to chase off the few Michael Moore fans from seeing his movies? ;)

As opposed to what he's been doing until now.

He’s not exactly well-versed on Christian theology either, is he?

Moore knows what sells in Hollywood. A pro-homo film is always a big hit with the Hollywood crowd.

He’s always talking about what a great Catholic he is, but he’s obviously of the Marxist-Catholic wing.

Bring it on, fatass. With each piece of excrement you release on film you further destroy your credibility. Even CNN trashed your latest string of lies and your ratings/earnings are in the crapper.

Then he should know what St. Paul said on this subject.

I saw "Sicko" while it was briefly posted on Google Video, and I was surprised by it. Not just by the fairly reasonable and non-partisan first half that shows insurance horror stories (forget the second half, which is socialist utopian insanity), but by the filmmaking.

I'd been hearing from critics for years that even if you didn't like his politics or methods, you had to admit he was a brilliant filmmaker who could make the most arcane subjects witty and entertaining. But what I saw was, frankly, pretty dry and dull. Scenes just dragged on long after someone should've yelled "Cut," and the whole thing was too long and repetitive. Even the good first half was the type of stuff that's done with much more drama and a faster pace on just about every "Dateline"/"20-20" type show on TV. And the second half was basically the same story about the miracle of socialized medicine told four times in a row, at length. A good editor could improve that movie immensely by chopping half an hour out of it.

Maybe Michael plans to make homosexuality more acceptable to mainstream America by making it seem really boring.

Michael Moore wants to make a fakumentary about gay sex? Yeah, that'll be a family-friendly film, alright.

"Homophobia"...what a stupid word.

I don't want dandilions in my backyard. That doesn't mean I'm frightened of weeds.

Michael Moore thinks not liking someone’s sexual orientation but doing absolutely nothing to hurt them is wrong but flying planes into buildings is an act to celebrate.

the difference between Moore and Bush? Bush did one business deal with a distant cousin of Osama, one whom never met him and Moore sucked Osama’s dick figuratively on his website yes prior to 9/11 but he was saying how wonderful the Taliban was.
\
He took it down suspiciously quickly after the first plane hit on 9/11.

If you don’t want gay marriage to be legal it means you hate gays.

I don’t hate gays I just don’t think marriage should be legal for them.

I hate Barry Bonds. Am I going to do anything to hurt him? No.

Does that make me Bondsaphonic? No. It makes me steroid aphobic.
