Today's Best of the Web contains a nice item noting that the government has dropped its case against one of the Marines accused of murdering Iraqi civilians. They note that John Murtha had adopted the prosecution's view of the world and repeated the accusation, and they now ask whether Murtha will apologize.
Says the Journal: "This was the incident in which Rep. John Murtha accused the Marines of killing Iraqis "in cold blood"--a charge, as we noted in May 2006, that was self-contradictory. In November ScrippsNews reported that Cpl. Sharratt's parents were "enraged" with Murtha, who is their congressman. Perhaps it's time for him to apologize."
My question for this Board is, shouldn't there be a little agitation to propogate this very sensible request for an apology? And isn't the community of Freepers the right place for that demand to get rolling?

Rep. Murtha should go down in disgrace. He has done more to harm our country than a band of grenade lobbing terrorists. This traitor Murtha has given ammunition to our enemies, by enforcing the idea in the Muslim world that the U.S. is the Great Satan.
Murtha must apologize and then resign. If he refuses, we should send him on a mission to Haditha in which he’s dropped off in the middle of the street there and then left to explain himself to his “friends” over there.
I can only answer the woman opponent question...Diana Irey, "Lardass"'s opponent last year, was just re-elected to her position in May of this year...or perhaps it was a primary...in any case, if she wins in November, or just won, she'll probably stay in that position for the next four years. All the more reason I wish she had won last November.

It’s too soon to ask that Muthra apologize, once all the Haditha Marines have been cleared of any wrong doing (and they will) Then we should do so.
In the Corps we call it “hurry up and wait” and we learn to be patient and no I don’t like waiting but the effect of being to throw all of Muthra’s accusations back at him and in his face will be worth it.

No we should demand an apology from the peolpe who elected TRAITOR Murtha to congress. They knew full well what he was and instead voted for more pork.
It’s too early and will fall flat because of that reason.
I want him to resign in disgrace broken by his own lies and political posturing but it is still too soon to bring this sort of pressure.
God have mercy upon me for saying this but right now it is the family of one lowly Lance Corporal against a cornerstone of the Democrats in the house, we need the families of all these Marines raising their voices as one to force the issue.
