Look out, we’re going to have record peaks in the mountainous areas and high humidity in the lower regions.

A couple of months ago some weather babe was trying to tie an odd weather pattern to GW and Cantore calmly said there was still a lot we don't know about the weather.

A move guaranteed to have him placed at the extreme end of the Florida Keys the next time a hurricane closes in on South Florida.

You know who used to be hot?

Jeanetta Jones.

But she’s on less and less these days. Maybe it’s the age factor.

She’s older than a lot of the other TWC meteorlogists.

That’s where the weather channel guys want to be. More air time. Speaking of Hurricanes, how many named storms have we had so far this year?

Good for the Weather Channel guys. I could always tell who the newbies were at WKRG in Mobile. They were the ones at the far end of Dauphin Island blowing sideways in the wind while holding onto a flagpole with one hand.

I believe that we have had two named storms. Which is probably average for this point in the season. Things normally heat up around August 15 and peak around September 15. However, there has been a lack of any activity in the hurricane factory areas which is odd.

I say one but officially two. The first one was a subtropical which almost never get named.

Hurricane factory area, meaning the Western African coast? Is the lack of activity normal for this time of year?

Full disclosure: I am not an expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. Actually, I am just a surfer that follows Atlantic storm formation closely.

Hurricane factory areas change depending on the time of the year. The Western African Coast is typical for later in the season (End of August and September). Early season; one area is off the coast of Flordia.

Lots of cool stuff here: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/pastprofile.shtml

“I say one but officially two. The first one was a subtropical which almost never get named.”

Giving names to sub-tropical storms cranks up the global scorching panic/hysteria. Pretty soon they will be naming tropical depressions.

Tremendous article with Joseph D’Aleo's take on the IPCC global alarmist's garbage.

The most important part of what he said:
Though the IPCC acknowledged these indirect UV and cosmic ray effects may be important (although a source of considerable uncertainty), they latched onto the small 0.1 percent change in the 11-year cycle and a single paper by Lean with Wang,(8) which used a new untested model approach suggesting the sun’s longer-term role is not as great, to cut back solar forcing by a factor of 7 from the 2001 prior assessment. This, despite the slew of peer reviewed papers showing the sun as more important, not less. This is this current report’s “Hockey Stick,” the original of which in 2001 did away with the great detective work of hundreds of the world’s best climatologists, and wiped out the medieval warm period and subsequent Ice Ages, making the current warming seem more important and man’s role more plausible. The Hockey Stick has since been totally debunked in numerous peer review papers and did not appear in the latest IPCC report. I am confident that this recent assessment’s downgrading of the solar effect will meet a similar fate.

Yeah, I noticed that and the first thing that came to mind was a politically motivated and funded researcher out to create more ammo for the GW lobby. In other words, he earned his money.

Excellent - thank you very much. However, what I have found in trying to discuss this issue with those who have made Global Warming their "fundamental" belief about the earth and Algore their "fundamentalist" preacher on this subject - it is akin to attacking their most reverred religious belief.

I am a heretic to them. I told them I don't recycle either so they have now concluded I am a determined "environmental" atheist. And I am. IF I print something out and just ask them to please find out for themselves - read this from scientists - they say - yeah, from YOUR sources.....and won't read them.

What is needed very much is some very "influential" "leaders" perhaps to come forward to refute the globaloney out there. Someone other than OUR spokespeople like Sean, Rush, Mark, others.

Is there ANYONE like that "out there"? Ahyone to counter the greenies, the insaniacs, the globaloney gospel preachers and their "choirs" in the music / Movie - TV fields?

It is just so frustrating because we know our freedoms, our standard of living, our very existance is threatened by these out of control "religionists" who are FORCING THEIR RELIGION on MILLIONS who do not want it! (or will not, once they realize what it means.....)

Don't waste your time on those whose minds are closed. The battle, as in any political argument, will be won among the "undecidedes" and "moderates."

And the rejoinder "it's not right for enviromentalists to impose their religion on others" should be very effective among those who have not yet been de-brained by the Environmental Borg.

I have turned off The BS Weather Channel, until they realize that they have jumped the shark.
