ABOUT THE AUTHOR - (Wikipedia)

Viguerie founded Conservative Digest magazine in 1975 and served as its publisher for ten years. Opposing President Gerald Ford’s election, Viguerie in 1976 unsuccessfully sought the presidential nomination of the American Independent Party (that had been formed eight years earlier by George Wallace). [1]

In 1977 he worked on a project to raise money for Sun Myung Moon’s Children’s Relief Fund, which reportedly only received 6.3% of the $1,508,256 raised. $920,000 went to Viguerie according to New York State charity auditors.[4][5]

Viguerie sought the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor of Virginia in 1985, but did not receive the nomination at the GOP state convention.

Asked by Campaigns and Elections in May 2000 what his immediate goals were Viguerie answered “To use the Internet to involve Americans in the political process, to help conservatives gain an advantage over the left. To fight against government’s use of power, to fight for individual rights and responsibilities, and to fight to extend the blessings of liberty throughout the world.”[1]

Writing in The Nation, David Corn noted that Viguerie “raised money for Judicial Watch” and is associated with Larry Klayman, conservative lawyer and activist and Republican candidate for the US Senate from Florida in 2004.[6]

Viguerie has long been associated with conservative activist Howard Phillips through creation of the Moral Majority in 1979.

actually, we DO shoot the messenger.
I’m just surprised it took 8 posts, though i “think” post 8 was somewhat tongue-in-cheek.

You want to shoot at Viguerie's conservative credentials? Be my guest, you might also try pounding your head against the wall, with about the same results.

This is an interesting article (hit piece on Thompson). It picks out all that is unappealing and hyperventilates trying to whip up a fire by merely heavy breathing and hair splitting. Thompson has a 86.1 percent lifetime (1995-2002) Senate vote rating compiled by the American Conservative Union (ACU). He isn’t the highest rated. Now I suppose that is too liberal for some given that in 2006 only 34 Senators scored 80% conservative or better, all Republicans. What I’d like to know is who exactly does the author desire we vote for? Ron Paul? If he wasn’t an isolationist who seems to have bought into the anti-American clap trap I’d consider it but sometimes when a candidate has ‘fruit’ written all over them one knows that fruit aint spinach.

Agreed. As for the author, I think that he may have overlooked the fact that, more often than not, if you want something voted on,you may have to ok some items in a bill that, if presented alone, you wouldn’t normally vote for.I think Fred’s the right man,all that other stuff aside. Besides...some of the amendments/proposals he cited are from 10 or 12 years ago. Can’t a person change their mind as they grow older and/or wiser? (exempt from that:dems and RINOs)

Wouldn't it say more for your cause, if you could answer the specific citations that he makes to what are public records? I want to give Thompson the benefit of any doubts, because he is a friend of Paul Harvey, but the writer makes some very strong points.

To be fair, via full disclosure, I have already announced my choice: Ron Paul Endorsement.
