It doesn't matter what I agree with, the majority opinion is the law. You quoted a judicial dissent and that is not the law.

The Constitution is the law. Majority opinions that gut that law are themselves lawless.

Don't try to play amateur lawyer. You're not particularly good at it.

The problem is with professional lawyers. They strain at gnats while swallowing camels.

I'm certainly not going to knock you for posting this because Viguerie has mostly written what my impressions of Thompson and the people behind him (Howard Baker, etc.) are. The only person in the race with any appeal to me has been Duncan Hunter, and it's apparent that he is going nowhere, not that I expected that he would.

Unfortunately, IMO Fred is clearly the best of the rest. Hardly a ringing endorsement, but at least if he is the nominee, I'll be able to hold my nose (as usual) and vote for him. Can't say the same for any of the others.

Sometimes - but the shortcomings of real lawyers don't vindicate your dramatic display of ignorance in citing as authority a dissent from a State case.

There are few first year law students who would make that mistake. Citing a dissent is exceedingly dangerous, done in only the rarest of cases.

If what you say is true, then it doesn’t matter who sits in the White House; the American people have already chosen to surrender our sovereignty to the globalist’s one world government; so it isn’t necessary to fight for what we think is right anymore because it is all for naught; and our troops are not our troops because they now belong to the U.N.

I’m with ya on stopping abortion, but you are misrepresenting Thompsons position and ignoring facts...

Read the Tenth Amendment...

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

Roe vs. Wade has been interpreted to make abortion a (federal) Constitutional Right. That makes it a federal issue. If Roe vs. Wade is overtuned, the Tenth Amendment is the default position and abortion becomes a state issue again.

Opinions vary as to what each state might do with the issue, but at present, the states hands are tied.

Thompson and I agree... Roe vs. Wade must be overturned and abortion will return to the states as soon as it is.

The fight to end abortion will become a local fight then, unless congress legislates on the issue properly, which I wouldn’t expect.

Congress has never legalized abortion, the court did. I doubt that they would even now. But I also doubt that they would “outlaw” it.

I have watched several do this on FR. I find it very frustrating. There is no difference between liberals spreading lies and conservatives spreading lies. A lie is a lie, no matter who tells it.

You’re willing to dismiss every member of the US Senate who voted in the Clinton trial for failing to remove him from office

Yes, absolutely, zero tolerance.

but you don’t know how to look up Senate votes?

Of course I do, but I didn’t make the claim..........

The CFR has been the shadow in Washington for many decades now. Move on. No news here.

Except to say that Reagan had the grace to dig his heels in on occasion, while the CFR treaded water. And Reagan did surroung himself with conservatives, not moderates.

Uhhhh... riiiight. I hope you filmed yourself posting that, because ESPN2 will pay good money to air footage of a leap of logic that would make Evel Kneivel wet his pants.

To summarize, I make fun of the ideological purists who insist that only their candidate can save the world, and even hinting at support of anyone but their chosen one is treasonous. You respond that we may as well give up and admit that our military now belongs to the UN.

Or, to put it into a logical statement,

"some believe their candidate is the only choice and you're an idiot and a puppy kicker if you disagree.

Bubba Clyde here doesn't support your candidate.

Therefore, all ice cream is good, especially rocky road.

Wow.

Judge Blackmun, in the meat of the Roe decision, admitted that if the unborn were PERSONS, that they were thereby protected by the Fourteenth Amendment.

Do you think unborn babies are PERSONS?

I don't know what that has to do with my previous posts, but I'll play along.

Yes I believe unborn babies are "persons" and I believe their life is protected by the fourteenth amendment. I don't believe the SCOTUS, if they overturn Roe, will allow states to decide whether most abortions are legal or not. I do not believe there is any way SCOTUS is going to say abortion is a "States Rights" matter, to do so would be inconsistent with too many other decisions on "fundamental rights" which they have found to be protected by the U.S. Constitution.

As soon as Viguerie gets his “let in on the action”...

I seriously doubt that is his purpose in writing this, plus the people behind Fred would NEVER allow Viguerie "in on the action" even if he wanted in.

I think the whole point is that EV wants FThompson to make an unequivocal statement:

Reporter: Senator Thompson, do you believe abortion is murder and should be banned in the United States?

FThompson: Yes. The first step is to repeal Roe V Wade, then I will work to promote an Amendment to the US Constitution to ban abortions in the United States.

Did I get it, EV?

Well, in that case, the war is over, and we've won totally and permanently.
