Awww come on, in fairness we can't even pretend that Kuninich is even remotely close to being a serious candidate. He's not even an amusing sideshow. Aside from his hot young bride, he's a non-entity and would get no press at all.
You know I’ve been reading this thread with the knowledge on some level that I’m genuinely bothered by the age difference between Thompson and his wife, without understanding why I was bothered. I tend to think of myself as open-minded about such things.
Then it hit me. I know what I find so creepy. I have daughters. If my daughter were to come to me and told me that she’d been dating a man four years my senior(Thompson is 4 years older than her mother), my first thought would be to shoot, shovel and shut-up. I can think of little that would disgust me more than one of my girls hooked up with a man older than myself.
Unable? You make it sound like anyone even makes the attempt these days. The truth is that 99% of the population, male and female work hard at being sexually active. Unable nothing, sadly, no one wants to.
However, in fairness, I've turned into the ultimate hypocrite. I spent my youth in the pursuit of sex, sex and more sex, but now I'm old, married and see things differently.
The popular culture likes to make it seem that way, but the truth is your statistics are way off. There is still a significant portion of the population -- not a majority by any means but a significant portion -- that strives for the ideal of monogamy and is holding out for a marriage partner.
Why don’t you give it a rest, expert-boy? I’ll make it simple for you: attacking other posters whom you do not know and making up fantasies about their intelligence or lack thereof to make yourself feel better will not help you, the other poster or the forum. Kindly stop posting to me.
Not to fault Jackie O., but anyone in the public’s eye should never be outside topless. (especially Ted Kennedy)
Not condoning the action of the sleazy photographers, just reporting a fact.
I still stand by what I said, most people can’t remain unmarried for long periods of time and be as moral as you were. There is nothing wrong with what I said, it is a statement of fact. Even people with good character would find it difficult, that’s part of the reason people get married, it’s not the whole reason, only part of the reason.
Okay...how ‘bout extremely petty, highly critical and overly judgemental?
They all describe comments about Jeri on this thread to a “T”.
He n his wife were on Fox news yesterday...
I'll bite, how far off are they? Statistically, what percentage are you contending are remaining celibate?
We'll have to disagree. It's easy enough for me to turn a blind eye and say that it's ok for Fred and Jeri, but if it were my daughter and a man 4 years my senior, there would be hell to pay.
The particular percentages depend on the age group and by whether you define celibate as “still a virgin” or simply “sexually inactive”. I haven’t seen detailed studies lately, but in last study I can recall for the college age group it was something like 20% to 30% of women and a little lower percentage of men that indicated that by choice they were celibate outside of marriage.
Ok, now that we have real numbers, I have to disagree. I doubt it’s a double number
The difference is mine are numbers I at least SAW in an actual study whereas yours came straight out of your head (or perhaps the other end) and are based solely your perspective and experience within your circle of acquaintences. Had I based the numbers on just the people I knew and associated with the percentages would probably have been higher.
The irony here is sweet. On the one hand you're trying to paint yourself as Mr. Moral while on the other you're the first to even approach scatalogical insults.
No scatalogical insult - just an observation that your figure was pulled from somewhere. There are two common anatomical references to a location from where one pulls a statistic that is made up, and I was allowing for either possibility.
I have $50 that says you don't have a daughter. If you did, you'd find it creepy.
