London - An estimated two billion people worldwide have watched the Live Earth concerts on the television. The shows designed to highlight climate change were organised in Australia, Asia, Europe, South Africa and the United States. Dozens of stars such as Crowded House, Madonna and The Red Hot Chili Peppers performed in cities which included Sydney, New York and London.
The global series of concerts kicked off in Sydney Australia where the show started with a traditional welcome dance by members of the Aboriginal community. Live Earth is the brainchild of former US presidential candidate Al Gore. He opened the event in Washington, and spoke to the public in Tokyo via satellite, saying it was high time to heal the planet. Live Earth is ending with a concert in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday evening.
Two billion people worldwide have no life.
A total of 18 million neurons stimulated.
How do they know 2 billion people watched it?
Sadly, my mother had it on a few times, so our household contributed to the numbers.
=(
To quote someone on another site, “I’m down at Starbucks, watching it on my laptop, in my Hummer, with the air conditioning on. I think I’ll let it run all night in the garage in celebration of the event.”
Saw on the news earlier that all profits from it will be managed by Al Gore.
Got to love it.
They can count heads pretty fast, can’t they?/s
Like, you know,
Whoop-ti-doo.....
(Index finger whirling in circles)
Saw some hot babes on stage. Wonder if they’ll ever find husbands.
Really? I havent met one person who has, and others have said they specifically are not interested.
Where’s the “Concert for Human Life?”
Oh my God, all those carbon footprints. I hope they have enough money to buy carbon credits from Gore's company in order to atone for their anti-earth sins.
No kidding. I went fishing and soaked in excessive Vitamin D instead.
How the hell do they know how many people watched it?
I watched. It’s the funniest damn thing I’ve ever seen! Some of the music isn’t bad, a lot sucks. Just watching the consumption of energy by the “Do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do” crowd is hilarious!
What’s he going to do with it?.
Didn’t include me. I couldn’t bear even a minute.
Easy.
They sent out six billion survey forms, asking "Did you watch Live Earth?"
They got back four billion "No" votes.
Are there even 2 billion TVs out there?
I find this number very interesting. I know a lot of people and I live in Boston...yet I know not one person who watched this (or even mentioned it). If the libs in Boston of all places aren’t interested—then who is?
2 billion...in their dreams.
