Good points. In my city ‘snow emergencies’ are declared and you are not allowed to park on city streets—so the snow plows have an easier job. Threats of parking tickets, ordnance tickets, towing charges, and impound fees are thrown around at the citizens during city council meetings.

Surprise ! There is nothing in the city charter or ordnance rules on the city books.

Not one vehicle has been ticketed/impounded in my cities history of 55 years.

Same goes for water restrictions here.

Smoke and mirrors.

Let me try and find it....and (as you’ll see by the hysterica crowd’s accusations) I’m going on record that I am NOT a cop - I have as quite a healthy mistrust of ‘supercops’ as anybody....

She should have to obey the law like anyone else. She had already been warned.

What law?

The cop was acquitted, by the way.

My issue is with the neighbor who filed a complaint with the police about her lawn, (twice), instead of getting out a hose and helping her water or weed.

We lived next door to a neighbor who would call the cops when we parked in the street. Once, when my parents were visiting, once, when we wanted to clean out the garage, We thought they were just picking on us, but found out they had called the police on our both of our neighbors across the street, for a visitor and a worker. This got to be a regular thing with them.

Some people would rather call the cops, (like a kid tattling to mama), instead of going talk to their neighbor or just helping them deal with a problem.

That would be good...

Talk about victimless crime.. Beating an old lady up because her grass was ugly...Man what a bite out of crime that was..

Maybe there should be corporal punishment for something like this -- in addition to whatever else.

If you go to the web page you detailed, you will see this:

Jury acquits Ivory John Webb Jr. in the videotaped January 2006 confrontation, which came after a high-speed chase in Chino.

You mean like this guy?

This photo shows a police officer shooting a bear, moments before an animal control officer on the scene was about to shoot the bear with a tranquilizer gun.

That video is a pretty poor example. For one thing, there's "no evidence the bear was about to charge" because the video isn't showing the bear at that point-who knows what it was doing if all you have is the video. Second, at the end, the reporter says it was the animal control officer who gave the order for the police to shoot.

From the video: "The animal control officer who gave the order to shoot says he did not want to but felt he had no choice because the animal was getting up on its hind legs"

So basically, you have a picture of a shaved-headed cop but nothing in the video supports that he's a 'roid fueled monster shooting bears for the hell of it.

I agree, miscreants like this need severe punishment. I’m guessing the lawn is only the tip of the iceberg. The walls inside her home, probably have paint that is over 2 years old on them.

Old paint? She probably had dated drapes too. That should at least rate a choke hold before cuffing the suspect.

notice that if there were young gang bangers or young men with cycles out front that would never happen...

same reason they "enforce" crap on old women, Christian children or any vulnerable person.

They won't fight back. The guys that pulled this were full of cr#p. C'mon... a watering violation and then booking the old biddy. Jeez!

Sorry, not enough information here to make stupid judgement calls like the lady was beat up etc... Those going off on their jack booted thug quotes are IMHO... not enough in the know to make that judgement.

Perhaps the officer was rough, perhaps the old lady was batty and does a little hysteric dance like my wifes grandmother does and got herself hurt in the process. I have seen my share of crazy screaming ranting from grandma enough to know that it is highly possible she made much of this crap up.

Need more info...

He should’ve knocked on the door and handed her the ticket or tape it to her door. If she didn’t like it, that’s her problem. Give her a deadline to fix the problem. Many people get tickets they don’t like, but have to pay. If you ignore the ticket it only adds up to more money you need to pay, then you end up in court.

"After being booked, supervisors became aware of the circumstances and immediately released the woman and returned her to her home on the basis that there were other options available to handle this situation besides making an arrest and holding the woman in jail," Orem police Lt. Doug Edwards wrote in the news release.

Too late, bub! Get ready to pull out your department's check book...!

‘He knows that he will get a black jury....’

Feel better now? Get it out of your system? Why don’t you tell us what your really think about black people?

What the #=!! does this have to do with this story?

Really, I believe some people post in this vein just to make FR and conservative forums look bad.
