...Al Gore’s schlockumentary “An Inconvenient Truth” has absolutely no basis in scientific fact...

That makes no difference ...global warming has become a secular cult movement and its followers have fully accepted the dogma of St. Algore.

“An Inconvenient Truth” has absolutely no basis in scientific fact.”

Proof #7856

But, it matters not to the left. The objective for them isn’t “proving” that man-made climate change exists — they know full well that it doesn’t — but they need a good excuse to implement all of the same actions they think appropriate to each of their “crises du jour” be it the global cooling of the 70’s or the population bomb of the 50’s, or whatever.

Take our communism unwashed masses, it will solve all ills whether real or imagined.

The Greenland icecap will not suddenly slide off into the ocean in spite of widespread fears that this is imminent. It can’t, physically, do that. Also, when the Viking named Greenland for the tourism trade, the Northwest Passage was open and Chinese including Marco Polo were already sailing over the top of Alaska nearly to Greenland from the west.

I want to start ‘project global warming’. The planet is in a deep freeze, darn it. We need warmer temperatures, we need to do our part to insure that our planet is nice and toasty for the next generation.

Everyone with a modicum of intelligence and honesty, and without a financial stake in perpetuating the bogus theories, knows those models have huge problems.

The men and women who made the models know the models have huge problems, it’s the idiot sensationalist journalists, politicians, and professional activists who have turned those rudimentary models into propaganda tools for social and governmental policy and agendas.

We’re witnessing historic events that through the combination of Dutch tulip frenzy and medieval Papal practices of selling indulgences, will be seen even with a few years, let alone in the history books, as the one and only largest farce brought open the otherwise considered “intelligent educated Western population” in the history books.

When you here someone spout off about this, openly laugh in their face. If they try to verbally spar, ask them to name any of the known solar radiation cycles. Then laugh in their face again.

“Greenland Ice Find”

It wasn’t the ice but the mud under it that they found trees and butterflies. All ought to know about the mud!

Al Bore wants you and me to either walk, take a bicycle or ride a horse... but... what about his family...???

Did you wonder what his son drove off in after he was released from jail for speeding/drugs/DUI/pills/pot?

Here's the raw video of Goracle III being picked up by his sister in a Maserati Quattroporte gas guzzling, environment destroying, globe-boiling, profligate, Liberalmobile.

Just that takeoff where she gunned it to escape the reporters ripped an Alaska-sized hole in the ozone.

See it before it disappears forever...

“Scientists not involved in the study cautioned, however, that current climate change is so driven by pollution from power plants, industry, and other human activity that it is nearly impossible to draw a meaningful conclusion about the durability of Greenland’s ice.”

“Whatever occurred in the past almost surely occurred much more slowly,” said Raymond S. Bradley, director of the Climate System Research Center at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. “Human activity is pushing warming at a much faster rate than in the past. Change is occurring in decades or centuries, not over millennia.”

“The raw results of this study are very impressive — southern Greenland was unglaciated sometime during the last million years or so,” said Gavin Schmidt, a climatologist with National Aeronautics and Space Administration ‘s Goddard Institute for Space Studies. “I would argue that this implies a more unstable ice sheet, not the opposite.”

Those are the statements the Apocalyptics will use to trash and write off the Danish teams work as meaningless and irrelevant.

Noel, if you read what the authors are actually saying about their own study, you'll see their study doesn't come close to debunking AGW. The study connects past warming to natural variations in Earth's orbit—obliquity, or how tilted the planet is in relation to the sun. Martin Sharp points out "One could argue that this shows that natural forcing could account for the current warm conditions, but the current orbital configuration does not support this, even when other natural forcings are taken into account." In other words, their study "really has nothing to say about the mechanisms driving the current warming."

They discovered the Greenland ice shelf is at least 400,00 to 800,000 years old. Certainly it was around the time Erik the Red named the island. According to author Eske Willerslev, the Greenland ice shelf "has not contributed to global sea level rise during the last interglacial. Importantly, it does not mean that we should not be worried about future global warming as the sea level rise of five to six meters during the last interglacial must have come from somewhere."

Finally, Martin Sharp warns the study "does not prove the current global warming trend is not human induced". If anything, "we may be heading for even bigger temperature increases than we previously thought".

The findings, published today in the journal Science, indicate Greenland's ice may be less susceptible to the massive meltdown predicted by computer models of climate change

If this is so and the Greenland and Antarctica ice shelves are stable even in major warming periods, then the global warming movement's primary means of terrifying people--"rising sea levels that will inundate the planet"--disappears.

Greenland really was green, before Ice Age glaciers enshrouded vast swaths of the Northern Hemisphere.

I'm pretty sure we were taught exactly that in elementary school back in the late-60's, while studying the Vikings. Because I've grown up always believing (knowing) that Greenland was once green.

I haven't read the collected works of Al Gore or seen his fictomentaries, has he been asserting that Greenland was always and forever covered with ice?

Seems like the kind of statement that even a 6th grader might find odd. "Then why is it called Greenland, Mr. Gore?"
