The Washington Prowler column has learned that the Los Angeles Times intends to publish a story that would attempt to link former Sen. Fred Thompson to a Washington-based, pro-abortion organization. Thompson, through a spokesman, is said to go on the record in the story as having no recollection of ever doing work for the organization in question during a period in 1991 when the first Bush administration was in power.
During that time, Thompson, was "of counsel" at the Arent Fox law firm in Washington, D.C. (meaning he was not a partner, but was provided an office for his use, in part because Thompson's own practice was based in Nashville, TN), and was used by the firm's partners as a "draw" for clients and potential clients, according to a source at the firm familiar with the arrangements with Thompson and others with the "of counsel" designation.

That’s not being a pro choice advocate. He only said that he wouldn’t change the laws on the books and that government shouldn’t interfere. It’s like say filling out a survey saying that government should not interfere in a woman’s decision. You will not find him claiming to be pro choice.
But you should watch the rest of that debate too. Democrats were portraying him as a right wing religious zealot who was hiding his true views.
In those 5 minutes he defended parental notification which is NOT a pro choice position.
The S.S. McQueeg is down at the stern and listing hard to port. I'll be surprised if he survives to Labor Day.
Jeez, dude...that Mitt Kool-Aid is strong!
In that video, he actually quotes the Boston Globe that you say nobody should trust or pay attention to and sits there trying to ‘out-choice’ the pro-choicer.
He wasn’t advocating for a new parental notification law. He was saying they should keep the one they already had. Hardly going out on a limb there.
With McCain out, the enemies of political free speech will still have a champion on the field in the majestic form of the Tennessee Stud, Fred Thompson.
Keep your day job.
You’re embarrassing yourself.
It's just a little creepy.
Look, he said that he rejects the label of pro choice. If you wanna call someone who rejects the label of pro choice, a pro choice advocate it’s your call.
He was endorsed by the Mass Citizens for life which is the local NRLC affiliate. But I guess you’ll find a way to spin the NRLC endorsement to a “pro choice advocate”. I won’t argue with you. Nice try to turn this into another romney bashing thread thou. Maybe you should read the article at the top before proceeding with this argument. An old saying about throwing stones when you have a glass ceiling comes to mind.
Comment #16 was a reply to you BTW.
All part of a coordinated attack on Fred on the July 4th long weekend - when many thought that he would announce.
Hillary - attacks Fred for remarks about Cubans
NY Times - attacks Fred and his sons for lobbying
Boston Globe - phony Fred-was-a-mole-for-Nixon story
Associated Press - “Analysis: Thompson Lacking Substance”
Bloomberg - Fred is lucky, lazy, manufactured and fake
CNN - support for Libby pardon & vote to impeach Clinton
All these stories have been fodder for the leftist nutroots blogs- from the little also-ran sites up to Kos and HuffPo.
Meanwhile these web sites magically appeared since June:
*Fred Thompson’s Private Journal (Leftist Oliver Willis)
*Conservatives against Fred Thompson (Brownback supporters)
*The Fred Thompson forum (Wrong Paul supporters)
*Phoney Fred (Romney supporters)
*I’m (Not) With Fred (”Mike”)
*The Anti-Fred (”Knox Pooley)
Just a few of the perks of being the new front-runner, LOL!
We’ll see. I have always welcomed Fred into the race. He is my fallback guy if Hunter does not get the needed traction to compete. But I have reviewed Fred’s entire voting record. He’s got some real stinkers in addition to McCain Feingold. That being said, like Romney, he’s saying many of the right things now. But I’m going with consitency over the flippers. GO HUNTER 08!
While advocating for abortion. I'm not impressed.
I wont argue with you. Nice try to turn this into another romney bashing thread thou.
Of course you won't argue with me. You've seen where it's gotten you in the past and there isn't any need to go there. Certainly not with you using material this flimsy. I didn't turn this thread into a Romney bashing thread. I simply challenged your delusional assertions about Romney. God forbid Willard is questioned by one of us lowly common folk...
You forgot the Pissant “Fred is a flipper” attack. LOL
Also known as the Severe Paulbearers.
...it's time for your....
I don’t trust the media. But I have read Mitt’s quotes. He was emphatically pro-choice. Glad he’s come around, or I would never be able to vote for him.
Ran out of arguments I see. I knew that the NRLC endorsement would provoke that reaction. I can use the words from your previous reply right back against you. You bring up videos I bring up surveys. You dismiss NRLC endorsements, I do the same. No one has pointed out a single pro choice action Romney has taken as governor but I know about a certain Postal Appropriations Bill vote.
I’m off for now. Feel free to continue with this on your own.
I bet you didn’t read a single quote where he said he was pro choice.
