Wow, I didn’t know about the novel. Can you tell me what really happened in a couple of sentences?

PS - Dennis Prager RULES! I listen to him every morning in my home office!

“The numbers sound great, but they really can’t prove we have freewill...it’s still just a mater of belief.”

Variables and numbers are empirical evidence of time and space. Even when you distort time and space, math & variables are always there. I don’t need to believe people who tell me that all things are a matter of faith and to just believe. I have had church members tell me carbon dating is wrong and that explains why we have only been here 6,000 years. Evolution is a fact, empirical evidence. It doesn’t mean I don’t have a relationship with God. When Moses wrote down the story of creation he never mentioned that the earth was formed in 6,000 years. This is an example of religious ‘belief’ and not empirical evidence.

I think you and I are on the same page. The mark of the beast is the opposite of the mark of God. It isn't some silly chip or a card that we carry.

The mark of the beast is not keeping God's commandments. Loving the things he finds abominable. Those things are not forced on us. We either accept them, or we don't. God will know.

The physical creation in which you exist and can sense has a built-in ‘uncertainty’ factor which mkaes possible your exercise of free will. That is the level of reality with which you are called to deal. Leave being God up to God, you are a created being.

I agree, if one held the bible in the same light as you...I do not.

You have just proven your freewill in your statement.

“If one ceased to exist, how would it be known?”

Indeed a merciful ending but one that is chilling to think about while you do exist. I guess that fits into being blotted out from the book of life now that I am thinking about this subject.

This is amazing! How bold, to name this thing the mark!

There are some things I'm willing to see as a consequence of coincidence, for example running into a neighbor at the corner gas station. Other things, for example a corporate name's correlation with a 2000 year old Jewish book, takes a great deal more faith in coincidence than I have.

“And you have been deceived.

I pray that the scales will be removed from your eyes so that you may see.”

Remove the rafter from your own eye before extracting the splinter from your brothers eye. This person is on a quest for true knowledge and God tells us that those seeking Him will find Him. Also, Christ says He is knocking and wanting to come into fellowship with Him. To me, he or she has already removed the scales...

About the Enterprise novel:

***major spoilers***

The premise is that an elderly Nog and Jake Sisko are looking at historical records that are different from what they grew up being taught. What they find is that Trip was recruited by the beginnings of Section ?(I can’t remember the number - the CIA-like agency that Malcolm had worked for and that Dr. Bashier was involved w/on DS9). His death was staged and he went on a mission to Romulan space....Captain Archer, the doctor and eventually T’Pol were aware that he was still alive but he was still undercover indefinitely at the end of the book.

“But if you cease to exist, is there any eternity for you? I think it would be worse to exist forever, always apart from God with no way to redeem yourself.”

Well, I do know Christ visited the fallen angels when He was ressurected. They were in dense pits of darkness know as ‘tartarus’. I lean on the side that God is merciful in judgement or in reward.

If God has, essentially, mapped out the whole universe and all of our actions, and knows how everything will end, then what is the point? Why did He bother?

Amen. I believe your life is mapped for you when you are born. There is nothing u can do to change it. Like Tiger Woods. That is his destiny. And mine is living in a horrible marriage. It is all luck of the draw.

I agree that if one has a relationship with God, there are truths that God reveals to that person, among them a correct understanding of Sripture and the ability to recognize fulfillment of end-time prophecy.

However, there are many things which are kept from us, most of them for our own good. For instance, we are blinded and prevented from being able to physically see fallen angels whom God tells us roam the earth.

For the person who knows Christ as Savior, and has a personal relationship with Him, the time will come when things will be revealed to us that are not at this time. But our finite, limited minds cannot comprehend the enormity of God's power; this Person Who is all-knowing and omnipotent, just like we cannot imagine the Trinity.

Here on earth, we are still subject to our laws. Perhaps there is no judgement day.

I think the mark of God is His Spirit. The mark of the beast may be a demonic spirit.

When early Christians paid their taxes, they had to swear allegiance to Caesar and say “Caeser is Lord”, and they couldn’t say that so they were killed. In taking the mark, people will most liely have to swear that the antichrist is Lord (god), and they will be beheaded.

It still really doesn’t prove we have freewill.
