Column: Coulter makes a mockery of politics

As the race for the 2008 Presidential election gains more and more ground each day, we find ourselves increasingly subjected to literal up-to-the-second coverage of the U.S. political arena. More often than desired, this barrage of “news” ends up to be nothing more than a coagulation of useless facts and figures accompanied by an endless stream of insults directed at your candidate of choice. Interviews are about as educational as watching 12 year olds argue about whose dad is cooler, normally consisting of three or more grown, educated men simultaneously trying to prove the others wrong by talking as loud as possible. Liberal bias or conservative bias, CNN or Fox News – mass media exists only to cater to those brave souls willing to aim low enough to attack the opposing individual’s very character. This type of high-brow, mature political dialogue has been an issue of especially high contention in recent presidential elections, and 2008 is no exception.

I do my best to maintain reasonable expectations for the public figures in my country. I assume most of them are remotely intelligent, and truly capable of listening if they’d only shut their mouths on occasion. I like to think that the pundits I see on television are reasonable people on the inside, and that I might even agree with some of their takes on many important issues.

However, there is one person in particular that serves as a towering exception to the rule: a cruel, heartless, close-minded individual who cannot and will never serve any good to humankind. I am, of course, talking about super-pundit and author Ann Coulter.

Since the recent execution of Saddam Hussein in 2006, Coulter is believed to be the most feared and last precursor to the coming of the Anti-Christ. Preaching a message of intolerance and hatred, Coulter chooses to prey on any group promoting any sort of equality, fairness, or compromise by making direct, personal attacks at her opponent. Coulter relies on her wit and her ability to interrupt others to convey her message, usually consisting of nothing more than a pile of ideological garbage. A staunch fascist, Coulter promotes many of the same ideas as her late male colleagues, including torture, imperialism, racism, intolerance of homosexuals, and a general hatred for any follower of Islam. Her loud mouth and ruthless attitude immediately propelled her to the summit of the media mountain, where she sits as the queen of the neoconservative movement.

Coulter has promoted the escalation of warfare in the Middle East, going so far as to encourage a takeover of the entire region and conversion of its people to Christianity. She has continually encouraged racial profiling and discrimination based on sexuality. In her most recent book, “Godless,” Coulter attacks four women widowed after 9/11, saying, “I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much.” She recently referred to John Edwards as a “f*****” and remains proud of it, despite pleas from Edwards to clean up her language and stick to the issues. Shameless and cold-blooded, Coulter’s purse has gotten fat as a direct result of her message of intolerance.

On a self-imposed mission from God, Coulter sees fit to usher out the rather important, constitutionally granted freedom from persecution based on race, religion, or cultural background and replace it with a theocracy bent on converting the entire world to Christianity and bombing anyone who disagrees. She claims to be waging a war on “liberals,” the umbrella term for anyone who disagrees with her ideology. The definition of Coulter’s “liberal” most closely resembles what a sane person would call a reasonable, pragmatic, progressive individual. You do not have to be liberal to be a “liberal,” the only requirement is that you disagree with any of the various moral wrongdoings Coulter actively endorses. As fundamentalist as any Ayatollah, Coulter may serve to be a greater threat to the American way of life than any terrorist. Monotonously divisive and inflammatory, “Ms. Right” is slowly eroding any remaining remnants of the motto, “United We Stand.”

I suspect you’re right about what’s needed to change the Middle East. Unimaginable destruction and horror — it will come to that. A Manchester Guardian (UK),reporter was on Niel Cavuto on Fox yesterday refusing to admit Muslims were the enemy. He wants the present war called ‘War on Terrorists’, a general term, including the IRA and Basque Separatists. (Muslims aren’t involved, of course.)

This obsession Americans have with Jihadists as the enemy is simply wrong. He went on and on and said he’d seen 9/11, shouting Cavuto down. 9/11, according to Europeans and Liberal Brits isn’t a reason to wreak revenge on Muslims. We were right to go into Afghanistan, but Iraq wasn’t a problem, (no WMD’s — he said). And just now on Fox, on Cavuto’s show, they’re saying 45 Muslim doctors are plotting to attack the US with car bombs and rocket propelled grenades....because it’s a holy war. Out of their bloody minds.

Liberals are used to conservatives being restrained and reserved. Coulter doesn’t give them any quarter and they are confounded by this type of conservative. They can’t handle the truth. She tells them the truth and they think it is hell.

Yes, Politics is a three ring circus now a days but look at all the work you have to do to find the truth in anything they say, It’s exhausting! Liberals hate Ann Coulter because she stands up to them and doesn't take their crap. She challenges them on each and every point of their leftist religion and they are not used to being challenged. Liberals have had their way for so long in this country that they can't fathom why anyone would criticize them or offer opposing viewpoints. She dishes it out as much as they do, and they can't handle that.

Let's see now...........Some Middle East countries that are being taken over by radical Islam and want to gain control of the entire world and force everyone to become a radical Muslim are not seriously being exposed by our leftist media as a very grave threat to the free world..........so, Ann says something like, "Hmmm, I guess I can say that we are going to invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity." (To strike home the point that the leftist media will call Ann on such "threats", but will pretty much ignore the evil socialist/radical Islam threat)

Let's see now.........A fairly well known person publicly uses the word "faggot", expresses regret, and checks into an indoctrination center for "well deserved brainwashing"............so, Ann publicly says something like, "Hmmm, I guess I better not use the word "faggot" when talking about insert name, or I will be in big trouble." (To strike home the point of how the leftist media seeks to limit free speech, and, also, how the leftist media will come down hard on Ann for using the word but not other political commentators)

Let's see now (Yes, I know this lead-in is getting old, but not as old as the whining by the folks who just don't get it)...............A leftist political commentator says that he wishes that Dick Cheney would have been killed by terrorists............so, Ann says something like, "Hmmm, I guess it will now be alright for me to say, hey, I wish terrorists would kill one of the leftists insert name running for President." (To strike home the points once again that the leftist media will not seriously call their own on such matters and will seek to limit someone on the right for attempting to say the same thing, EVEN IF IT'S SAID JUST TO EXPOSE MSM BIAS!)

AND, the left, and a few on the right wring their hands and sob.............

And, the college kid who wrote the article (which article includes the usual socialist code words) that is the basis for this thread, should ask for a refund, as the purpose of English Language classes is to teach students about the many and varied uses of the English Language...............

This passage really says a lot. There is no such thing as a constitutionally granted freedom from persecution in the form of criticism or insult from fellow private citizens. I am allowed to stand on the highest soapbox in the land and proclaim hatred for any group or to insult any ethnicity or religion I choose (more on that later). And those I insult have a right to insult me right back.

I always liked Mike Savage’s phrase “liberalism is a mental disorder”. This column bears out that postulate. The disorder manifests in retarded perception of inconvenient facts, severe analytical impairment and complete emotional dominance over intellect.
