In observance of Independence Day, National Review Online asked a group of servicemen (currently deployed and vets) those for whom the rest of us are in debt for our freedom to tell us why they fight. Heres what they with a key supporting role from an army wife wrote.

There’s a war on, and the enemy wants to kill us. All of us. Man, woman and child.
Anyone who doesn’t know that is either delusional, dead or one of the enemy.
Thanks to all who have served, all who are serving, and all who will serve in the future.
You are right, but I have to blame the administration for not getting the message out.
Ron Paul is right that we need to declare War, name names and fight to win fast. The current ROE are ridiculous.
