What a great idea to watch The Patriot! I love that movie. (o: [Hubby is still recovering from back surgery, and can't sit down yet... So, we will be missing the fireworks for the first time I can remember really in my whole life! )o: So, watching the Patriot is something that I think might be a great idea, after all that is the TRUE meaning of this day -- not the ooohhhs and aaahhhs of fireworks -- although those are nice too! (o:]

Awesome thread dolly. It IS very important to remember that Independence Day is JUST THAT and not just an excuse for a day off. Mr. D. is in 2 parades today, I'm playing with John's essay (another winner). Again thanks for the awesome thread!

Oh, you will love Pismo! Have you been out here before? We are about an hour and forty-five minutes away. Not too far.

Are you going to be able to see any other parts of California? Hearst Castle isn’t too far from Pismo and it is well worth seeing. And, you really should go down to the town that Sean Hannity calls “Paradise”, Santa Barbara. There are so many beautiful and interesting things to see and do along our coast.

sorry your hubby had to have surgery. So many people have back troubles (yours truly included).. a day/evening with movies is appealing to me. I am out almost every day & am always busy while out so R & R is appealing.

my mother would have been 94 today.
We always celebrated 2 birthdays on the 4th.
