You heard right.
Freeper "pissant" has been in a discussion recently with Sam Hunter, Duncan Hunter's youngest son and a Freeper with the username "Duncan Hunter Ambassador". He was, for a short time, answering questions on behalf of Freepers for a month or so earlier this year until work at the main campaign office became supremely hectic (also, since Hunter's other son returned to active duty, his workload was shifted to Sam).
However, in lieu of the Weekly Answers Thread, Sam Hunter and pissant have managed to arrange something fantastic, with the support of the Jimrob.
In a couple of weeks, a "virtual press conference" will be held here on Free Republic. Before then, Freepers will be able to ask questions for Duncan Hunter to answer. Hunter will answer 15 questions and will relay the answers to Sam or pissant. This will be before the virtual press conference.
pissant will announce the date of the press conference a few days in advance. On the day of the press conference, the 15 questions and Hunter's answers will be posted in a brand new thread.
Here's the best part: Duncan Hunter will remain anywhere from an hour to 90 minutes to chat and converse with Freepers, answering any additional questions they might have. The full details of the press conference are still in the works, but they'll gel together over the next several days.
Any follow-up questions that aren't answered will be answered by Sam in the following days/weeks. They will posted in the same thread as the virtual press conference.
Let's make sure to give them a warm welcome for taking the time to come here and talk with We The People!
Being a General in the Army would qualify as having executive experience, since a general has to oversee thousands of soldiers.
There hasn't been a Senator who was a President since President Kennedy. A Representative hasn't been President ever, if I recall correctly. Since the 20th century, a large majority of the Presidents have been governors - largely because of their administrative experience.
Possibly - but maybe not the action you want.
Let's talk about this on another thread another time. We've already started to hijack this one.
Very cool idea! I hope the FReepers who are not pro-Hunter will be respectful.
Good thinking. thanks.
OK! Thanks for the quick answer guys!
Bump for fantastic reference! Thanks!!!!

That was about 30 years ago. I would guess any influence or views he might have then, have probably changed dramatically just as this entire issue have changed dramatically since that period.
My thoughts. He might have a different response though.
PING!
Great idea...I’ve already got my question. :-)
Well, this factoid should answer a few things: one of Hunter’s requirements for his clients was that they fill out all paperwork in English.
Post it here, and we may select it as one of the 15.
IIRC, the last Representative to go straight from House to President was James Garfield.
No. When the news conference starts, we will post his answers to the selected 15 questions to get the ball rolling. Then he can answer follow up questions. More efficient to get more questions answered that way. :o)
Hey pissant! Fantastic job! Thank you, Ultra!
All for you , Paperdoll. :o)
No, the answers won’t be posted until the conference.
There’s nothing wrong with this question. Hunter will have to answer it and should, so will Hillary with her great experience of being married to a politician, Obama with his newbie status even on capital hill, so will Thompson who was a Senator. Some people are on the Legislative side, some on the executive side. Guilianni and Governors have to answer to a lack of Federal experience. VP’s have an office to their credit that “is not worth a bucket of warm spit.” Etc. Etc. Question is basically a different version of “Why would you be a good President?”
