You heard right.
Freeper "pissant" has been in a discussion recently with Sam Hunter, Duncan Hunter's youngest son and a Freeper with the username "Duncan Hunter Ambassador". He was, for a short time, answering questions on behalf of Freepers for a month or so earlier this year until work at the main campaign office became supremely hectic (also, since Hunter's other son returned to active duty, his workload was shifted to Sam).
However, in lieu of the Weekly Answers Thread, Sam Hunter and pissant have managed to arrange something fantastic, with the support of the Jimrob.
In a couple of weeks, a "virtual press conference" will be held here on Free Republic. Before then, Freepers will be able to ask questions for Duncan Hunter to answer. Hunter will answer 15 questions and will relay the answers to Sam or pissant. This will be before the virtual press conference.
pissant will announce the date of the press conference a few days in advance. On the day of the press conference, the 15 questions and Hunter's answers will be posted in a brand new thread.
Here's the best part: Duncan Hunter will remain anywhere from an hour to 90 minutes to chat and converse with Freepers, answering any additional questions they might have. The full details of the press conference are still in the works, but they'll gel together over the next several days.
Any follow-up questions that aren't answered will be answered by Sam in the following days/weeks. They will posted in the same thread as the virtual press conference.
Let's make sure to give them a warm welcome for taking the time to come here and talk with We The People!
Duncan Hunter on CNN in debate on Iraq strategy with Dennis Kusincich on American Votes 2008 just now. Hunter clearly the decisive winner.
Dear Mr. Hunter—if the presidential campaign doesn’t work out, would you consider challenging Lindsey Graham in the SC Senatorial primary? We could find a way to make you an honorary South Carolinian...
That MIGHT work, if we would let him go. America’s Finest City needs him here ;-)
Well, that's one way to look at the big picture...
>I’m voting for Paul in the primary but I know he hasn’t a tinker’s chance of winning.<
Why waste your vote? Rep. Paul is a decent man, but the 2008 vote should go far beyond party to who is CLEARLY the best candidate for our next Commander in Chief, Duncan Hunter, who DOES have a chance of winning IF Americans wake up in time.
He was just now on CNN discussing his solid strategy plan for Iraq in his typically succinct and informative manner.
Money and Media are NOT everything IF we, in spite of those factions, vote for what is TRULY in the best interest of the survival of our beloved country. There is no more experienced and knowledgeable man running, or not yet running, than Rep. Duncan Hunter.
Both Nixon and LBJ were vice presidents prior to becoming president.
What CNN program was Hunter on? I want to check if I can catch a repeat.
It was American Vote 2007 on CNN.
In the primary I believe you should vote for the person you consider to be the best candidate and not worry about who the media/pundits say is in the lead.
The more I hear about Duncan Hunter, the better I like him. He seems to be a real person who is insightful and has both the breadth of knowledge and trustworthiness the president of the United States needs. He stands up for what is right, condemns what is wrong, and not only does he defend our country’s principles, he lives them and has passed them on to his children. Anyone who can do that in this day and age is obviously doing something right.
Those qualities are larger than any single niche.
The only thing he lacks is name recognition. I know the media won’t give him the time of day, but the media is losing its grip and there are new methods to accomplishing goals. That is why I love Free Republic.
I mistakenly thought the question was who had been a senator and later went on to become president. I guess it was actually about who had gone directly from the senate to the presidency. My mistake.
placemark
I see you saw.
: )
And...if you choose not to relocate to SC...there's a few other states I could think of....for instance, McConnell from Kentucky is running for re-election.... : )
>>>Its great Hunter will come here, and we appreciate it, but he cant really wow us with typed messages like he could with a really bang up 2 minute youtube video that hits the right note.

I don’t understand why conservative candidates don’t do more real virtual press conferences with the blogosphere the way the liberal candidates do?
My only explanation is that if they (liberals) make a stupid off the cuff remark it will be covered up by the MSM. If a conserative candidate did it, it would be front page news.
Their political consultants probably tell them not to. Any thoughts?
“Did you post it here? You should! That will spread you voice further!”
Not yet.
Ron Paul is pro-life, and a nice man, but he doesn’t seem to understand Jihad, which is why I would not feel safe if he were president.
Tell ya what, you and all the Duncan supporters. I’ll wager whatever amount you want that he will NOT be the Republican nominee. Where’s your confidence?
Talk about delusional.
Duncan Hunter has been on so many radio and tv talk shows that I’m starting to wonder if he even sleeps. :)
For instance, he did a great job on Sean Hannity’s show last week, but then he always does a great job.
Do a search on FR for his name, and you will see some of the interviews that were on You-Tube.
But he needs $$ to do campaign commercials, and that’s where we come in, and need to contribute to his campaign whatever we can afford.
