Likely presidential candidate Fred Thompson (R) released this statement: "I am very happy for Scooter Libby. I know that this is a great relief to him, his wife and children. While for a long time I have urged a pardon for Scooter, I respect the President's decision. This will allow a good American, who has done a lot for his country, to resume his life."

Can’t wait for 2008, although I’m a Hunter fan, Mr. Thompson is looking good. (I sure home neither Romney, nor Giuliani, get the nomination nod)

I would like to hear what the witch has to say.

You can't hear the shrieking where you are??? Ye gods, man, she's squealing and howling like a dry crank bearing at 4,000rpm!

But unlike that bearing, she won’t seize up. She’ll just keep screeching.

While for a long time I have urged a pardon for Scooter, I respect the President's decision.

What Bush did was smart though. Libby can appeal his conviction without spending time in prison, and if he's exonerated, the MSM/Dims can't whine about Bush "supporting corruption blah blah" because the system will work. If the conviction holds, Bush will just pardon him before he leaves office.

This is the Bush I remember and love, the poker-playing, Texas Bush.

I can't find anything where she's made a statement, it's in her interest not to say anything about it, since 1) she can't do anything about it, and 2) it would bring up questions about pardons given at the end of Bubba's administration, including ones that were used to buy New York Senate votes for her.

It's noteworthy that she ducked the question about two weeks ago with Chrissy Matthews.

Good point. Actually, if Obama is smart, he should have someone direct a question about Libby specifically to Hillary at the next Democrat debate. He could score some serious points with the socialist-thugs wing of the Democrat party if he plays his cards right.
