Illegal aliens announce “campaign of resistance”
michellemalkin.com ^ | July 2, 2007 | Michelle Malkin

Hours after the Senate voted against advancing the immigration reform project, the Mexican activist Elvira Arellano announced a campaign of resistance against the U.S. government.

In a written statement, the leader of the movement Familia Unida (United Family) said that “if the Democrats and the Republicans cannot summon the courage to fix the broken law we will not sit quietly and see our families and our children cut to pieces on the broken pieces of that broken law.”

She demanded an immediate moratorium on all raids and deportations.

Arellano, who has remained in a Northwest Side church since August 15 to avoid an order of deportation, said this would be the deadline the government will have to “revive and pass a comprehensive immigration reform.” Otherwise, pro-immigrant organizers will begin a campaign “aimed at bringing this government and this economy to a halt.”

Representatives from the Centro Sin Fronteras and the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights also announced this morning they were prepared to take “economic actions” against corporations that support anti immigrant legislators and programming.

Also, a massive concentration of families and children is scheduled for July 17 in Washington D.C. to “confront the leaders of both parties and the President.”

Send every border agent on the east coast to this event.

“In what other country on the entire face of the earth would an illegal immigrant feel like “resistance” and “issuing demands” would be a trigger for anything but a one-way ticket OUT of the country?”

A shame Ike isn’t around anymore. He wouldn’t be as flacid as Bush. Actually i’m being generous. It isn’t that Bush is weak. He isn’t. Its that he actually wants these people.

As the allowance of birthright would require a Constitutional amendment (which should be done), the faster intermediate step would be to cease allowing parents to stay, just because the child is a citizen. The argument that doing so would split up families is based on the assumption that the illegals are so barbaric that they would leave their children behind.

I had a neighborhood highschool kid do my yard - trimmed, mowed and bagged. Paid him $30. Took him about 75 minutes. Pretty good money.

A group of illegals - varied 3 or more did the same job - good enough but not as good as the teenager - also for $30 in about 45 minutes. (Teenager was out of town for a few weeks)

There is definitely opportunity for you.

Thanks. That's good to know. I thought some pot-head made it up. It's ingrained in the Rat's psyche. It's what they do.

I can’t disagree. Why these immigrants are so desired, I truly don’t understand. Is it that they are some sort of potential voting block that our bought-and-paid-for representatives can’t wait to suck up to? That seems unpredictable, outcome-wise, and surely doesn’t appear to be a benefit for the GOP.

All I can say is that I note the contrast between those who would benefit and those who would suffer should a massive influx of illegal immigration occur. Logically I can’t help but conclude that the desire for their presence originates from a very small sub-class that will benefit from their presence and who are insulated from the effect of their increasing numbers.

Its time for ‘em get a warrant, knock politely on the door and arrest anybody who doesn’t immediately cooperate with her arrest and removal; and keep arresting people until they get to her.
They should also consider seizing the Church and all its property under the RICO act.

Ah, the "Rule of Law" once again, as practiced by the Bush Administration. Shoot a Mexican drug smuggler in the ass, and get 12 years in prison. Defy a court-ordered deportation, and--NOTHING.

We should call her an illegal ignorant instead of immigrant.

You are exactly correct. The invaders were violating the law (hence “illegal” invasion) and something should have been done about it.

Sad, but true. I'm getting very discouraged over this, and the implications this shamnesty has for our country. We can't even rely on our government to protect our national borders and sovreignity :(

I agree with you 100%! The Catholic Church has been actively aiding illegals, and it seems like they would come under the RICO ACT for their participation! I don't know why that law exists about churches and politics, if they're not going to enforce it. < / sarcasm >

She went into this church almost a year ago under ‘sanctuary” (of which there is no such thing)

You are absolutely right.
By definition, "sanctuary" cannot exist in a secular state.

If I wanted to live in a society where "religion" trumps civil law, I would move to Iran.

Sounds like political activity also disqualifies that church from tax-exempt status. What's going on there?
