This Illegal Alien Invasion thing has cut across party lines and brought people back together like nothing I've ever seen before. All people here have to do, is look around, see how their neighborhoods are changing- for the worse- and notice how property values are dropping... who wants to live next to a duplex with front an back yards full of new cars and trucks, 10 families in the duplex, and three satellite dishes sprouting in the yard?

One thing I neglected to point out is the change in tenor of calls, over this issue, in the last 5 or 6 years.

It used to be that most callers were grudging admirers- "hard working, God-fearing, love their families" was a typical conversation.

That changed recently, and I think the driver behind it is the rash of car wrecks involving presumably illegal aliens.

A typical tale is "I was proceeding lawfully, when out of nowhere this car runs into me, and everybody in the car bails out and runs away. The police get there, and they say 'there's nothing we can do about this...'"

This happened to the daughter of a friend of mine- she escaped with bruises, but her car was totaled, and the police didn't do a damned thing towards tracking down the runners.

Haven't seen The Goat Ritual ( yet! ) but then again, I haven't peeked down the street this morning, either...

A couple of years ago, the police were called to an apartment complex in a small suburban town outside of Boston because yes, the residents were roasting a goat in the front yard on a Sunday afternoon.
