The political ledge dive by the GW Bush is almost to immense to describe. I don't know if there is anything in US history to compare it to, except perhaps Johnson's loss of the Democratic base during 1968. But even that was different, in that radicals finally took control the entire Democracrat party after years of posturing for it.
President Bush's next 17 months are going to be very lonely for him indeed. I feel sorry for him, but he did this to himself.
