The justifiably furious reaction of the American public, which deluged senators with telephone calls, e-mails and faxes, forced the Senate to reverse itself yesterday and send the amnesty bill crashing to defeat a potentially fatal blow. It was a devastating setback for the Bush administration and its Democratic Party allies, in particular Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Sen. Ted Kennedy.
In addition to being an extraordinary substantive triumph for the American people, it was a huge victory for the conservative movement. Talkers such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham and many others played an indispensable role in making available the research by the Heritage Foundation and NumbersUSA and analysis from editorial pages such as this one to tens of millions of Americans in a very short period of time. But ironically, by demonstrating in a powerful way its ability to reach and educate the public about the specific problems with the bill, talk radio has also made liberal politicians like Sen. Dianne Feinstein even more determined to revive the so-called Fairness Doctrine (the equal-time policy enforced by the Federal Communications Commission until it was eliminated in 1987 at the urging of President Reagan) in an effort to take away the one part of the mass media that conservatives dominate. On the final vote, virtually the entire conservative movement lined up against the bill. On the losing side were the leading Democratic presidential contenders Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama and the Bush administration, vividly demonstrating the political gap between the president and the conservative movement.

Thank you! Wonderful article! I might even print it out and frame it, with the words next to it by a song from the rock group ‘’The Who’’.......’’We won’t get fooled again’’...........

Dr. Michael Savage...
They cannot even say his name..
W
Before getting all warm and fuzzy about Senator Cornyn, please look a law he proposed with Senator Coleman, called the North American Investment Fund, which proposed spending American taxpayer dollars to build Mexican roads, railroads, and schools to make Mexico more competitive with American workers.
Let the legal process continue--which is what he SHOULD do.
He is not an ass, he is our President. That you can say such a thing about someone who's done more for this country since 9-11 than you ever will is indicative of the cowards who lurk online.
Incredible isn't it? SAVAGE has been talking BORDERS, LANGUAGE, CULTURE, since the beginning of time and yet, NO ONE in the media ever gives him credit for what he does.
TSN ping..............notice no mention of SAVAGE in this article??? Unbelievable................
That's the best you got? Bringing out the old "Bush was a hero because of 9-11"?
What did Bush himself do, that any other decent person wouldn't have done? Granted that under Gore we would have very likely spent years wringing our hands. But, Bush only did the very things a president should do.
So, you elevate him to godlike status because he did what he was supposed to do.
Believe it.
MSM and other talk radio hosts are jealous of Mike.
Although I listen to Levin once in awhile. I think he is way off base the way that he slams Mike. But, as I said Levin and the others are jealous of the popularity of Mike.
Here is a blog where Levin fans post their comments about Mike.

Most of those comments are laughable, obviously by people who have never really taken the time to HEAR SAVAGE, oh they may have listened but they did not HEAR there’s a difference and they prove it with their remarks!
ROTFLMAO!!
They think that public reaction was fierce towards this amnesty atrocity, leading to its defeat, just wait until they try to revive the Fairness Doctrine. Idiots.
>Your president and his minions n the Senate are not going to give up on this. It’s the main purpose of his presidency. Everything else was done just to keep you all on the plantation.<
BINGO!

Well, on Wednesday, which was the final day to make the big push on killing this bill, Savage was a no-show!
You may not be a fanatic about one world government, but GWB and Co. are. The very sad thing is that he has another year and 1/2 in which to push us into it!
All I have to say is, “If you care, be aware to prepare!
Doesn’t really matter that he was a no show, he’s been preaching borders, language, culture for years....one day missing hardly makes a difference, and, imo, INFIDELS are savvy enough to know that they should have been calling their senators, what could SAVAGE have said Wednesday nite that was going to make an earth shattering difference?
Bravo!
We can only hope so.
Mr. Sessions definitely led the opposition, but Mr. Cornyn did so only grudgingly, and he was far less visible than Jim DeMint and David Vitter.
And Mr. Cornyn's appearance on Fox recently showed him to be only reluctantly willing to oppose amnesty. He did a little dance with O'Reilly where they both agreed that "we can't deport 12 million" and we've got to do something to accomodate them.
Wrong. We do nothing to accomodate them. We continue our enforcement of our laws and even step them up. Eventually the illegals get the message: this is a frying pan that's a little too hot to stay in. So they leave on their own.
Mr. Cornyn is an opportunist. He has his finger in the wind, and he caught which way the wind was blowing. But that doesn't mean he's leading the flow, just along for the ride.
