Immigrants still living in fear
Kalamazoo Gazette ^ | Friday, June 29, 2007 | Ted Roelofs

In many ways, this family of five is like many others in West Michigan.

They go to church. They pay taxes. The oldest daughter does well in school and dreams of college.

But with Thursday's collapse of an immigration-reform bill in the U.S. Senate, the parents continue to fear a knock on the door that could split this family in two.

They broke immigration law a decade ago when they crossed the Mexican border and could be deported if found out. Their three daughters are citizens because they were born in America.

``All it would take is one phone call and you are gone,'' said the father, Ignacio, 45, who spoke in Spanish through an interpreter and asked that his real name not be revealed.

``I live very fearfully, watch everything I do, all out of fear of being deported.''

The bill defeated Thursday, which was backed by President Bush, would have offered a complex path to citizenship for many of the 12 million people who reside in the United States illegally.

Are the so called reports across the country doing a cut and past on the poor law breaking illegals story?

Ignacio, head south!

Hey Ted? Since you don’t have the gonads, why don’t you give me their address and I’ll report them to ICE. You can feel comfortably uninvolved and call me any name you choose.

We should all retire there

Retired American burglaries, home invasions, beating, muggings, rapes and murders are never reported in the Mexicans or the US press; or in the slick brochures luring you to Mexico.

Why go to the trouble if you can lure the victims to where you are? The best of both worlds.

“i’ll wager many illegals are planning to return to mexico”

You’d be best off wagering pesetas and not dolares.

I would say that "New" Mexico has far more that 85,000. Visited my mom in Alamogordo recently and could have sworn I had taken a wrong turn and was 80 miles south, in Mexico.

Home Depot and other major stores repeat every intercom announcement in Spanish. Their yellow pages are twice as thick as they should be, because the first half is in English, the second half in Spanish.

They are changing our culture and our language --- one border town at a time and moving north.

>> You get a social security number. You file a tax return. Uncle Sam keeps the dough. That’s how.

Pray tell, if you’re an illegal alien, HOW do you “get a social security number”?

Steal it?

You did see the story about the illegal that was working as a cop. He was using his dead cousins id, even though he was several years older than his cousin. LOL

Immigrants still living in fear

Well here are some American victims of those criminal illegal invaders...

Apparently some 48 thousand Americans since 911 no longer live in fear having already been killed/raped/murdered since 911

I have seen political maps of Texas in 2020 and they show it voting solidly Democrat because of the illegals.

My Father in Law says he won’t have enough money to live on....which is why he comes back here for several months a year.....he (and his brother) forced my FIL to cash out the retirement money’s he had for them (they are allowed to do that, I guess)....so, they got CASH....and well, you know how THAT sometimes works!

That the media has a leftwing bias in its immigration coverage is no surprise at all. But I think it is even more hopelessly biased on this issue than just about any other.

_______________________________Rich elites want open borders.

This is the basic fact changing our society from the United States to Mexifornia. Elites want the destruction of American sovereignty while the people do not. These are the people who are funding the destruction of the country for their own ideological agendas, mostly leftist.

Wealthy philanthropic foundations are helping bankroll the pro-immigration movement, while groups advocating for tighter control of U.S. borders say they take a more grassroots approach to raising money.

The Ford Foundation, the Carnegie Corporation and Democratic activist George Soros, among other liberal funders, have donated millions of dollars to pro-immigration groups.

Three of the nation's biggest and most influential pro-immigration groups -- the National Immigration Forum, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, or MALDEF, and the National Council of La Raza, or NCLR -- collectively received more than $3.25 million from Ford Foundation since 2005.

Truth? We are up the creek without a paddle. The next move from the pro-amnesty and the criminals they support, will be staged evidence that our border agents are guilty of something. So, the US can be made to look bad again.
