I think we all have not-so-positive feeling towards Senator Chuck Hagel (R-Grandstanding).

This article is the first public one I've seen indicating that Hagel may be facing a tough challenge next year.

I read the article over lunch today and I found it to be pretty fair and accurate. According to the article, "Hagel has voted with the president more than any other member of the U.S. Senate, according to a tally done by Congressional Quarterly."

Comments or opinions - anyone?

And for some reason he has an anger to George Bush that is not particularly productive.

That describes many clowns on this forum.

Frank:

Any remarks? I’m sure his stance on the Senate Immigration bill also cost him standing in Nebraska.

Jon Bruning was interviewed on TGO’s show a week or two ago, and he was very impressive. Seems solidly conservative and very personable.

Fantastic! One RINO we don’t have to work so hard to oust.

Love to see Hagel go.

He is a 'Kennedy' Republican.

Hagel has gone from an ACU rating of 96 in 2005, to one of 75, in 2006

Thats a substantial turn left

“Hagel has voted with the president more than any other member of the U.S. Senate, according to a tally done by Congressional Quarterly.”

seriously. that doesn’t help, it may hurt.

2 , maybe 3, big issues later 1) Win Iraq; 2) Protect Borders 3) Rejuvenate and cleanse the parties (Overthrow corrupt senior political class in both parties_

hagel, and most all the other senior Reps will be in trouble on just 1 or 2 of the major issues, and other seniors will get caught in the undertow. overall voting records are useless, unless they regularly voted for all of Bush’s spending increases.

“Nebraska is more conservative than the nation as a whole,” Bruning told NEWSWEEK. “Senator Hagel, however, has become more liberal.

THAT is why Hagel and Bush see eye to eye! They're both liberals.

Hagel sickens me. I think he sickens nebraskans too. My uncle, who lives in nebraska, told me he thinks an old democrat comgressman from nebraska, Bob Kerry, is going to come back and take hagel’s seat from him.

He’s running against Chuck Hagel (R-France)? Then I’m supporting him.

When the time comes let us know how to donate to Bruning’s campaign.

“And for some reason he has an anger to George Bush that is not particularly productive.”

That's not going to be very relevant, given that President Bush will be leaving office shortly after the new Congress convenes. In fact, it may just help Hagel at the polls. "I work well with Bush" and "my opponent doesn't get along with Bush" aren't going to give any campaign oomph in 2008.

Many Nebraskans like the Democrat Ben Nelson as a better conservative than Hagel. I bet Hagel gets thrown out. Hagel’s style of Republicanism may fly in Maine, but not Nebraska.

Speaking strictly for myself, I have the same “not so positive feelings” towards Hagel that my bowels have for salmonella-contaminated seafood.

If Bruning proves to be real, I’ll bet he has no problem raising funds from Nebraska as well as from “furriners” like me. I’ll be happy to contribute a few bucks towards his success (and Hagel’s defeat).
