Sky News sources say one of the first police officers on the scene of the London West End car bomb may have saved dozens of lives by diffusing the explosives before the bomb squad arrived. It is believed the quick-thinking cop recognised that the car was wired to blow up, jumped in and disconnected the trigger device, thought to be a mobile phone. This backs up an eye-witness account of a police officer briefly entering the metallic green Mercedes before running for cover.
People are being warned to stay vigilant after the discovery of the "massive" car bomb, which could have killed hundreds of nightclub revellers.
The device, which contained 60 litres of petrol, a large amount of nails and several gas canisters, was found in the Mercedes early this morning.

Will the UK and the rest of Europe wake up in time?
These SOBs only need to be lucky once; the cop deserves a medal as ‘ol Baba Ali could made the cell call when the officer jumped into the car. Britain’s political fortunes are dissipating by the hour right now; they have a new Prime Minister p*ssy in charge, and the Mohommedans know it. This will escalate quickly if they think they can can get the Brits out of Iraq through homestate terror. It is also a dire warning on how they will think as soon as the RATS have the White House.
Anyone ever noticed that these clowns can afford to use high-end cars like Mercedes for their bombs?
where is all that money coming from? Certainly not from the pockets of ‘individual cells’ of jihadists.
Good job. Buy that officer a beer.
Make it a Guinness, a big tall one.
He'll never have to buy another one himself.
Mercedes has a lower end line over in Europe that’s not sold stateside. It’s not nearly as meaningful to have one over there; it’s just another car unless it’s one of the luxury lines.
