Hope they round them up real fast.
Was there a forecast of today’s action??
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/06/29/terror/main2997517.shtml
Hours before London explosives technicians dismantled a large car bomb in the heart of the British capital’s tourist-rich theater district, a message appeared on one of the most widely used jihadist Internet forums, saying: “Today I say: Rejoice, by Allah, London shall be bombed.”
CBS News found the posting, which went on for nearly 300 words, on the “al Hesbah” chat room. It was left by a person who goes by the name abu Osama al-Hazeen, who appears regularly on the forum.
Damn, hope they round that blog up real soon.

Hero Cop May Have Saved Scores Of Lives [UK TERROR PLOT!!] |
||
Posted by Enchante On 06/29/2007 11:09:13 AM CDT Sky News ^ Sky News sources say one of the first police officers on the scene of the London West End car bomb may have saved dozens of lives by diffusing the explosives before the bomb squad arrived. It is believed the quick-thinking cop recognised that the car was wired to blow up, jumped in and disconnected the trigger device, thought to be a mobile phone. This backs up an eye-witness account of a police officer briefly entering the metallic green Mercedes before running for cover. People are being warned to stay vigilant after the discovery of the "massive" car bomb, which could... |
London also has “congestion charge” cameras that recored license plates of all ears entering and leaving central London.
Using CCTV footage to construct a pattern of that vehicles recent movements would be interesting.
I doubt they would be dumb enough to have it registered in the perps name (probably stolen, or paid for in cash recently), but hey, stranger things have happened...
I wasn’t on that site last night...but the sight is known for interesting posts.
UH!! “ears” ?!?! make that “cars”
Apologies for all the typos etc... my mind is on several things at once...
I’m hearing army bomb disposal units are being called into the park lane car.
Problem is the cameras do not prevent crime, they only help track down the culprit.. and not always too well.
I for one would not want to give up my privacy for something that “might” work or “might” catch a bad guy, but will do nothing to stop it.
LOL, the Islamic Mafia?
You stay safe my FRiend it looks like they have targeted the West End.
I still do not believe some are saying the Mafia????
thanks for the information.

“Official: Diffused Bomb in Central London Would Have Caused Significant Damage”
Friday, June 29, 2007
( AP, FOX NEWS)
LONDON Police thwarted a terror attack Friday near the famed Piccadilly Circus in the heart of London, defusing a crude bomb made of gasoline, propane gas, and nails after an ambulance crew spotted smoke coming from a silver Mercedes outside a nightclub.
A British government official told FOX News that a number of people “were seen making their way away from the car,” leading Scotland Yard to believe detonation would have been accomplished remotely.
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Britain’s Sky News also quoted a police source as saying the device was to be set off remotely by cell phone. A police officer risked his life by removing the remote trigger from the vehicle before the device could be set off, the souce was quoted as saying.
Hours later, police closed a major road Park Lane and began asking people to leave the adjacent Hyde Park because of a suspicious vehicle.
Sky News reported that police were focusing on a vehicle in an underground parking lot and that there was a link to the explosives-packed car. A remote-controlled robot was being used to inspect the vehicle.”
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Britain’s new home secretary, Jacqui Smith called an emergency meeting of top officials, calling the attempted attack “international terrorism.”
“We are currently facing the most serious and sustained threat to our security from international terrorism,” she said afterward. “This reinforces the need for the public to remain vigilant to the threat we face at all times.”
Police planned to examine footage from closed-circuit TV cameras in the area, Clarke said, hoping the surveillance network that covers much of central London will help them track down the driver of the rigged Mercedes.”
