Sanctions and diplomacy have failed and it may be too late for internal opposition to oust the Islamist regime, leaving only military intervention to stop Iran's drive to nuclear weapons, the US's former ambassador to the UN, John Bolton, told The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday.
Worse still, according to Ambassador Bolton, the Bush administration does not recognize the urgency of the hour and that the options are now limited to only the possibility of regime change from within or a last-resort military intervention, and it is still clinging to the dangerous and misguided belief that sanctions can be effective.
As a consequence, Bolton said he was "very worried" about the well-being of Israel. If he were in Israel's predicament, he said, "I'd be pushing the US very hard. I am pushing the US [administration] very hard, from the outside, in Washington."

SOmetimes I think nukular weapons themselves and the megacide to come are just the planet’s way of protecting itself from us.
The things Bush “doesn’t see” are legion.
The reality is more is going on in coming up with solutions to deal with Iran (military options are part of this mix) then can openly be talked about.
The notion that because we haven't dropped bombs yet on Iran...that we aren't doing anything or that GWB is a wimp is utterly foolishness. Usually boasted by people who will never have their as$es on the line to begin with...
sez it all about gw
open borders and no israel
It is funny liberals hate him. but he is doing the exact sort of things they do. He has advanced the liberal agenda from where is was in 2000.
Actually if I posted what I really felt was going on in the world, I would get blasted by many here.
Suffice to say, looks like Joel C Rosenburg’s “Ezekiel Option” just might be headed for the nonfiction section at your local bookstore. (Small plug for a book I think many should read. One of Rush's favorite authors)
The George Bush that we knew and loved is lying in a hospital room at Bethesda Naval Hospital in a coma and has been since 2004. He had a bad fall on his bicycle. That guy we see each day on the cable news channels is really the Bush impersonator from “The Jay Leno Show”. Only Karl Rove and Laura know the truth.

You have the gall to accuse me of using the DU playbook? Perhaps you should read my history of posting...a little education never hurt anyone.
That you have a blind admiration for a president that is clearly falling down on the job is testimony to your desire to know.
Keep your insults to yourself and steer clear of me.
“Yeah, but in the 20s, 30s, 40s, etc. the enemy did not have nuclear weapons. Not quite the same as a machine gun.”
Not to hijack, but in the 20’s we had Nancy Pelosi :x
Planet’s fixin’ to molt.
I take this as some further public warnings to the Mullahs that their time may be up if they do not bend. Not that I expect them to bend. They are convinced the Russians and China are on their side, and the world will be so effected by the loss of oil that we shall not strike them major blow.
However, he should be informing and educating the American public. Instead, he’s allowed the opposition to paint him badly. He needs to reassert his commitment to protecting the world from threats like Iran, too, so that the whole world knows they must apply sanctions or be an enabler of Iran’s mullahs.
You can read it much further back through history than that. Venting however can yield benefits to both those who do it, and are temporarily relieved, and those who learn something or figure out something from the vent of the other.
Bush administration is “OUT OF GAS”!
I think Saddam thought that too.
It wouldn't be a superpower if we weren't treating it as one. "Negotiating" with the mouse that roared is one of the stupidest things we have done in a long line of stupid things.
If they have nukes trained at the US - and we know it - or if they have suicide bombers inside the US - and we know it - we should just take them out right now. Things are not going to get better.
We are letting them get more powerful day by day, and I think we are directly responsible for promoting Iran from a 3rd world s***hole to a "superpower."
Just to remind you: consider President Kerry.
God bless John Bolton, one of the few we’ve got with brains and guts.
